Role Description - Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions - Review complex insurance contracts and evaluate coverage, regulatory, and litigation-related legal issues - Provide clear, practical, and strategic coverage recommendations to clients - Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, discovery responses, legal memoranda, and coverage analyses - Manage insurance coverage and related litigation matters from inception through resolution - Handle written discovery, depositions, court appearances, motion practice, and trial preparation - Conduct in-depth legal research on coverage, reinsurance, regulatory, and litigation issues - Respond to regulatory inquiries and assist clients with insurance-related legal obligations - Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal team members - Maintain strong client relationships by following client guidelines and delivering responsive service - Accurately record billable time and manage deadlines across an active caseload Qualifications - Connecticut bar admission required - 3+ years of insurance coverage or related insurance experience - Experience with coverage opinions, policy analysis, reinsurance, regulatory matters, or insurance-related litigation - Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills - Experience with written discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation - Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with partners, associates, and legal staff - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, polished work - Professional, responsive, client-focused communication style - Federal court experience preferred - Insurance defense experience preferred Requirements - Must be admitted to practice in Connecticut - 3+ years of insurance coverage or closely related insurance experience, such as reinsurance, regulatory, or insurance-related litigation - Federal court experience and insurance defense experience are preferred Benefits - Dental insurance - Paid time off - Retirement plan - Vision insurance - Comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, 401(k), flexible work options
