Role Description Biamp, a leading manufacturer of professional electronics for use in the installed audio and video communications market, is currently recruiting for a new Field Sales Engineer based in the North Central part of the US, who will work with customers in the North Central US region. This position is a primary source for pre-sales technical and design support for all Biamp’s Pro AV products. This is a technical sales role focused primarily on pre-sales support. The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for educating end users, consultants, AV integrators, and distributors on the design capabilities and performance benefits of Biamp’s products and technologies. The goal is to help clients select the ideal Biamp solution for their project and ensure it meets their performance expectations. In addition, the role includes delivering training and guidance to channel partners, designers, and installation teams to support more efficient and profitable project completion. The Field Sales Engineer works closely with Biamp account managers, business development representatives, and technical support staff, while building and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the sales process. How you’ll contribute: - Drive the sales process through all project phases requiring technical or design decisions. - Fully explain to clients how a Biamp solution solves their issues. - Help increase Biamp market share by providing world-class technical expertise on every project with the primary goal of increasing revenue for the company. - Provide demonstrations and training on the technological aspects of Biamp’s products and solutions in the field to system integrators, consultants, end-users, and distributors. - Manage all elements of technical communication between Biamp and the channel up to the point where the product is ordered. - In collaboration with the account manager, develop relationships with decision-makers and technical staff, becoming their technical resource and reference. - Participate in regional trade shows as necessary, meeting customers at the booth and delivering equipment demos or providing technical expertise. - The Field Sales Engineer will take a leadership role through the technology evaluation stage of the sales process with major projects and key clients, remaining available to assist during the development of system design. - Maintain an ethos of constant self-improvement on sales techniques and technical skills. - Other duties as assigned by your supervisor. You'll also support with: - Reporting client feedback on technical matters to Biamp leadership. - Identifying and reporting on any areas that could be improved upon for increased customer satisfaction. - Providing input and guidance for the creation of operations manuals for new products. - Creating and proofreading content for Biamp’s online knowledgebase. - Coordinating and collaborating with apps engineering and product management on product evolution. Qualifications - Comprehensive general technical audio, video, and control knowledge. - Experience with programming and installing of AV and control systems. - Extensive computer networking design and support experience (preference in audio video networking), with CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, ENS, CompTIA or other relevant IT industry qualifications a big plus. - Good computer literacy skills, including working knowledge of the MS Office suite, CAD programs, and EASE. - Experience interfacing with distributors, system integrators, consultants, and end-users in the professional audio-visual and control industry. - Strong technical presentation skills, and the ability to address a wide range of business and technical people, from company presidents to non-technical staff. - Ability to build long-term relationships with customers. - Ability to work as part of a team, and strong self-motivation to enable efficient work in a location remote from the company’s offices. - Excellent written and verbal English skills. The ability to speak and write fluently in another European language a big plus. - Relevant degree or professional qualifications desirable. - The ability to lift fifty pounds for carrying demo gear and setting up speakers. Requirements - The successful applicant will be based in the North Central part of the US and live within easy access to a major international airport. - The position requires the ability to travel often and at short notice throughout the US, as well as occasional trips to yearly tradeshows in Las Vegas and Orlando. - This position includes the payment of all traveling and office costs, including office equipment. Role Description The Getac Compute Sales Engineer is responsible for technical engagement across the entire pre-sales and post-sales lifecycle for Getac’s rugged computing products, in-car video systems, body-worn video solutions, and supporting backend infrastructure. This includes running customer trials, validating solution performance, and supporting deployments to ensure a successful technical outcome. This role serves as the primary technical advisor to Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), customers, and partners. The Sales Engineer conducts product demonstrations, leads technical discovery, executes trials, provides solution recommendations, and delivers post-sales troubleshooting across both Compute and Video technologies. The ideal candidate is comfortable in customer-facing environments, confident with hands-on technical work, and able to translate complex requirements into practical solutions. Qualifications - A college degree is helpful but not required; equivalent hands-on technical experience is acceptable. - CompTIA A+ is required (or obtained within 90 days of hire) and must remain current. - Additional certifications such as MSCE, networking, cloud, or video systems are helpful. - 1–5 years of pre-sales or post-sales technical engineering experience in rugged computing, in-car video, body-worn video, mobile technology, or related fields. - Experience working directly with field sales teams, engineering, end-customers, and third-party partners.
