Associate Category Manager

• Lead category management for key accounts delivering actionable recommendations across assortment, space planning, and promotional activities • Build scorecards and benchmarking to track performance and inform joint business planning • Synthesize multiple data sources (POS, syndicated, shipment, retailer inputs) into clear, defensible insights • Develop category stories that move beyond reporting to influence retailer decisions • Evaluate promotional effectiveness and pricing strategies to improve category and portfolio outcomes • Lead development and deployment of AMPS/4P framework across species portfolios • Create repeatable toolkits (segmentation, assortment frameworks, space logic) that scale across accounts • Expand team knowledge and skillset of category management • Partner across sales, customer marketing, portfolio/species teams to align recommendations and business priorities • Ensure current strategies reflect retailer goals, shopper behavior, and portfolio strategy • Act as liaison for retail-embedded field analysts; set priorities and standardize outputs • Build and manage a consistent cadence of scorecards, insights reviews, and category updates • Improve data integration and reporting efficiency over time

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in category management, shopper insights, retail analytics within CPG, animal nutrition, or adjacent industry
  • Demonstrated ability to influence retail partners with fact-based assortment, pricing, space, and promotional analytics and recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong data analytic skills with experience working across customer data platforms and syndicated tools like Numerator, Stackline, Nielsen/IRI, Euromonitor, etc.
  • Advanced experience in building data visualization and performing analytics within business intelligence tools: Tableau, PowerBI
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization

Role Description RSM is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Contracts Manager to join our finance team! This role is responsible for leading and executing vendor sourcing negotiations for projects and purchases with an annual spend up to $500,000 in size. The Strategic Sourcing Contracts Manager works closely with Partners, Line of Business Leaders, Directors, and Managers across all lines of business and internal functions for RSM.
