Title: Regional Press Assistant Location: Washington, DC, United States Job Description: Description Reports To: Deputy Communications Director Department: Communications Work Location: Hybrid (WFH & DC Headquarters) Job Type: Full-Time, Salary Exempt Supervisory Responsibilities: No The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working professionals who are committed to electing Democrats and winning the House majority. Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle. Position Summary: The Regional Press Assistant is a vital role in the Communications Department. The main objective of the Regional Press Assistant is to monitor the news of our House battlefield and help maintain a cohesive workflow throughout the department and proactively keep tasks in motion. Daily duties consist of compiling daily press clips, flagging up-to-the minute press clips, being proficient in having press releases approved by all the appropriate staff, a wide variety of writing/research projects, maintaining press lists, and making press calls. The Regional Press Assistant must be able to quickly adapt to the fast pace of the office. This job requires working under pressure, working with hard deadlines, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently with staff at all levels. This is a job for people who want to learn quickly from a talented and fast-moving communications team. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. Responsibilities Include: - Assist the Communications Director, Deputy Communications Director, and Regional Press Secretaries in the day-to-day communications operations for the entire DCCC communications department, particularly as it relates to the Regional Pods. - Perform daily communications functions, including compiling daily press clips, assisting Regional Press Secretaries with media monitoring, drafting press materials such as press releases, and identifying potential news opportunities for the DCCC communications department. - Provide key administrative and organizational support to the DCCC communications department on various tasks and special events. - Other duties as needed.
