Role Description Brock University is seeking an Education Instructor for the course "PROF, LAW & PRINC OF TEACH IN ONT II: TECH ED" in the Department of Educational Studies, Teacher Education, Consecutive & Concurrent Program. - Duration of Appointment: August 30, 2026 – September 29, 2026 - Online Location: Synchronous - Compensation: - Effective September 1, 2025 - $36.03 per nominal hour - Effective September 1, 2026 - $37.11 per nominal hour - Nominal Hours of Appointment: 195 hours - Number of Positions Available: 2 The Department of Educational Studies is committed to social justice, equity, and inclusive practices. Instructors will: - Possess strong understandings of relevant knowledge for teaching. - Model the Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). - Engage students in conversations on educational inclusion and equity. - Support all students and encourage inclusivity. Qualifications - A minimum of 5 years of recent and relevant technological education teaching experience. - Master's degree or recognized specialization in the field. - Demonstrated leadership in curriculum and professional development related to technological education. - Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum and approved resources relevant to technological education. - Exhibits contemporary knowledge of educational theory and pedagogy. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrated knowledge of social justice and equity. - Competency in using educational technology for content creation and course management. - Knowledgeable of technological education safety practices. - Experience facilitating challenging conversations with adult learners. Requirements - Familiarity with Brock University policies and adherence to them. - Complete required Brock instructor’s online tutorial prior to first class. - Use a provided Brock email address for all communications. - Develop course materials and effectively deliver all aspects of the course. - Manage instructional contact time and non-contact time. - Adapt instructional and assessment strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs. - Advise, mentor, and provide feedback to teacher candidates. - Work collegially and collaborate with course team leads and other instructors. - Attend course team meetings and debriefings. - Manage course records including attendance and submit final grades by deadlines.
