Payroll Specialist

• Process and administer payroll for multiple clients, including calculating wages, benefits, deductions, and taxes accurately. • Handle HR administration tasks such as onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, and timekeeping. • Stay current with employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance of payroll and HR practices. • Assist clients with employee benefits administration, enrollments, and benefit-related inquiries. • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and HR issues, providing effective solutions. • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients; address inquiries, provide support, and maintain strong client relationships. (Support for corporate staff.) • Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality in payroll and HR systems for all clients. • Generate and analyze payroll and HR reports to support client and internal decision-making. • Collaborate with technical teams to improve and optimize HR and payroll systems. • Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency of service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience managing U.S. HR and payroll functions for multiple clients.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll processing, taxation, and labor laws.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Discretion handling sensitive and confidential information.

This role provides leadership to the payroll team, drives process improvements, and partners cross-functionally with HR, Finance, IT and Legal to support payroll systems, reporting, and strategic initiatives. Major Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for assigned domestic locations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Monitor changes in payroll-related laws and regulations and ensure processes are updated accordingly. Lead payroll audits and ensure readiness for internal and external reviews, Resolve complex payroll issues and provide escalation support as needed. - Manage, coach, and develop payroll staff, promoting a high-performance team environment. Lead cross-training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to reduce single-point dependency. Monitor workload distribution and adjust priorities to ensure deadlines are met. Provide payroll insights and analysis to support decision-making. Ensure clear and consistent communication on payroll policies, changes, and issues. - Maintain and document necessary payroll rule changes in UKG WFM time keeping system such as changes in payroll schedules, and updates in payroll reporting compliance with regulatory agencies and CBA agreement changes.
