DevOps – Network Engineer

GFT Technologies

• This is a hands-on, fixed-term contract role sitting at the intersection of Platform Engineering and Cloud Networking. • The successful candidate will design, build, and standardise AWS-native networking capabilities as part of a high-priority Cloud Networking initiative, replacing legacy controls with scalable, policy-driven patterns and integrating networking into platform pipelines. • A day in this role: Design and deliver cloud networking patterns across AWS CloudWAN, VPC Lattice, and AWS Network Firewall. • Replace legacy network controls (e.g. NACLs) with centralised, policy-driven approaches that scale across the organisation. • Build reusable, well-documented Terraform modules for network provisioning, policy enforcement, and governance. • Integrate networking capabilities into platform pipelines and service onboarding patterns. • Collaborate closely with the Networking team to align on routing design, security policies, and engineering standards.

Job Requirements

  • Deep expertise in AWS networking: VPC design, routing (BGP/static), CloudWAN, Network Firewall, and VPC Lattice.
  • Advanced Terraform skills, including writing and maintaining reusable modules at enterprise scale.
  • Strong cloud networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, firewall policy, and east-west/north-south traffic patterns.
  • Demonstrable experience working across both DevOps/Platform Engineering and Networking domains.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and integrating infrastructure-as-code into automated delivery workflows.
  • AWS PrivateLink, Route 53 Resolver, or AWS Control Tower experience. (Desired or nice to have)
  • Network observability tooling experience (e.g. VPC Flow Logs, CloudWatch, network performance monitoring). (Desired or nice to have)
  • Exposure to zero-trust networking principles or service mesh architectures. (Desired or nice to have)
