Job Description
Director of Product, Credit
Brigit
Hi, we're Brigit! A holistic financial health company helping everyday Americans build a brighter financial future. With a business model that is aligned with our customers, we create transparent, fair, and simple financial products that put money back in the hands of our members, help them spend wisely, avoid unfair fees and build their credit quickly. If autonomy, ownership, and having meaningful input at the company you work for is important to you, come join our growing team! Brigit is doing innovative and exciting work, but don’t just take our word for it, our work is being recognized by others: - Built In's 2026 Best Midsize Companies to Work For in New York City - Built In's 2025 Best Places to Work For In New York City - Built In’s 2024 & 2025 Best Startups to Work For In the U.S. - Built In’s 2023 - 2025 Best Startups to Work For In New York City - Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2022 - Business Insider’s Most Promising Consumer Startups 2022 - Forbes Fintech 50 2022 The Role As Director of Product, Credit, you'll hold a unified view across Brigit's core financial products, breaking down the silos that have developed between Instant Cash, Line of Credit, and Credit Builder, and defining how these products work together to deliver compounding value for members. You'll manage a team of product managers across products at very different lifecycle stages: a mature, high-volume cash advance product that serves as Brigit's primary acquisition driver; a credit builder product that creates a natural graduation path for members ready to build their credit; a line of credit in early beta that needs to be scaled responsibly; and a payments infrastructure layer that enables all of them. Your work will require equal parts strategic vision and operational discipline: knowing when to build for scale, when to move fast, and when to hold back in the interest of member trust and risk management. What You'll Do - Own the unified product strategy and roadmap across Instant Cash, Line of Credit, Credit Builder, and Payments, identifying cross-product opportunities that have been missed by siloed development - Define how Brigit's core products work together to create a coherent, compounding member experience vs. a collection of disconnected features - Lead responsible scaling of Brigit's Line of Credit from limited beta into a core product, balancing growth with delinquency and compliance constraints - Develop a renewed thesis for Credit Builder, finding new ways to deliver value for members building credit without materially increasing cost or risk - Partner closely with the Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure every product decision accounts for downstream impact on delinquency, utilization, and regulatory standing - Own the levers and metrics behind your product suite – including delinquency, utilization, fee-based revenue, and cost-to-serve – and make decisions that reflect a clear understanding of unit economics - Build scalable platform infrastructure where it matters, knowing when a reusable system is worth the investment vs. when to ship a fast, targeted solution - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product managers, building a culture of user empathy alongside the business rigor the company requires - Ensure all product strategies remain ahead of the regulatory and compliance curve, particularly as Line of Credit and Instant Cash operate in an evolving legal landscape What We're Looking For - 8+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading a portfolio of financial or consumer credit products - Demonstrated experience managing products at different lifecycle stages simultaneously: early launch, responsible scale, and mature optimization - Deep command of credit product unit economics: utilization, delinquency, loss rates, fee-based revenue, and cost-to-serve - Proven ability to orchestrate across Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Engineering, treating them as partners in product decisions, not downstream reviewers - Strong platform and systems thinking with a track record of investing in reusable infrastructure when it matters and knowing when it doesn't - Genuine user empathy, particularly for members under financial stress, and the conviction to advocate for user-first decisions in an impact-focused environment - Experience building and operationalizing high-performing product teams, with a track record of developing talent and creating cultures of accountability and experimentation - Bonus: Experience with earned wage access (EWA), revolving credit, BNPL, or other regulated consumer lending products Compensation The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $190,000 - $225,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Our Benefits & Team - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Flexible PTO Policy - 401k plan - Paid Parental Leave - Physical and mental wellbeing benefits including Wellhub for access to virtual workouts and discounted gym memberships, and Headspace for covered virtual therapy sessions and unlimited on demand health support - Monthly reimbursements to use against wifi and cell phone bills - Annual reimbursement for Learning & Development - Help hard working Americans build a brighter financial future - High-growth company - A dynamic, flexible and collaborative start-up work environment with a highly talented team Brigit is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees without regard to race, religion, color, sex, pregnancy (including breast feeding and related medical conditions), national origin, citizenship status, uniform service member status, age, genetic information, disability, or any other protected status in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
