About the team The Growth Analytics team at Airwallex is a dynamic group of data scientists and analytics professionals. As key partners to Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Product, our team works collaboratively to enable data-informed decision-making, experimentation, and scalable measurement frameworks supporting Airwallex’s global expansion. What you’ll do You will be the technical lead for the Growth Analytics team, working cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, shape data science initiatives, and drive impactful strategies. You’ll mentor junior data scientists, partner with business stakeholders, and translate complex business questions into actionable analytic solutions. This role offers you the chance to help shape the next phase of Airwallex’s growth with data-driven leadership and innovation. This hybrid role is based in San Francisco or New York City. Responsibilities: - Act as a technical partner to Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Data Science leaders to develop and implement Airwallex’s growth strategy. - Lead and mentor the team in applying data science techniques—including root-cause analysis, statistical modeling, and experimentation—to unlock acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation. - Design and implement robust, scalable measurement frameworks for data-driven decision-making across multiple teams. - Communicate complex data insights and recommendations clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring findings drive business impact. - Translate open-ended or complex business problems into structured, high-impact data science initiatives. - Mentor and coach junior data scientists, serving as the single-threaded technical owner on critical cross-functional projects. Who you are We’re looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory. Minimum qualifications: - At least 7 years of industry experience and a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics). Advanced degree (PhD or MS) preferred. - Proven experience mentoring or leading data science or analytics teams. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to influence strategy in high-growth, cross-functional environments. - Track record of applying data science to drive measurable growth outcomes. - Technical proficiency with SQL and Python/R; experience in data modeling is a plus. - Experience in technology, financial services, or high-growth environments is advantageous. Preferred qualifications: - Experience mentoring teams in a fast-paced, startup, or fintech environment.
