Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Strong experience in property and corporate accounting.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Experience with AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, QuickBooks, or SAP.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Role Description Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting, this role will support the Company’s revenue accounting function and compliance with ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will assist with: - Revenue contract reviews - Month-end and quarter-end close activities - Revenue accounting documentation - Cross-functional support for revenue-related matters This role will help ensure accurate revenue recognition and financial reporting by preparing analyses, maintaining support schedules, assisting with audit requests, and contributing to process improvements within the revenue accounting function. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities - Prepare revenue contract reviews and first-pass ASC 606 analyses for new contracts, renewals, amendments, and non-standard arrangements, including identification of key revenue recognition considerations. - Support monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, deferred revenue rollforwards, revenue schedules, commission capitalization and calculations, flux analyses, and other close deliverables. - Prepare and maintain revenue accounting documentation, including ASC 606 analyses, contract review conclusions, technical accounting memos, SSP support, and revenue-related financial statement disclosure support. - Support the ongoing operation and enhancement of revenue recognition systems and processes, including NetSuite ARM or similar revenue automation tools. - Support the execution and documentation of internal controls over revenue recognition. - Partner cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, Billing & Collections, FP&A, Legal, IT Business Applications, and other teams to resolve revenue accounting matters and support accurate reporting. - Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of revenue accounting processes. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. - 3+ years of accounting experience, including 1–2+ years of revenue accounting, revenue recognition, or related ASC 606 experience. - Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles; SaaS and Professional Services experience strongly preferred. - Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue schedules, commission calculations, and month-end close deliverables. - Exposure to contract review, order forms, amendments, renewals, or non-standard deal terms preferred. - Experience with NetSuite, NetSuite ARM, Salesforce, FloQast, or similar accounting/revenue systems preferred. - Strong Excel and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets. - Ability to research accounting issues, document conclusions clearly, and escalate complex matters appropriately. - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional business partners. - Public accounting or audit experience is a plus, but not required.
