Quality Assurance Engineer III

• Designs and executes test plans, enhances automation strategies and processes, and leads defect triage sessions to prioritize issues. • Implements comprehensive testing strategies and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. • Actively engages in the software-development lifecycle to improve quality processes and ensure seamless test automation, integration, and performance. • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure clear, complete, and testable requirements for all tasks. • Develops detailed test plans, strategies, and scenarios that cover functional, regression, integration, and performance testing and edge cases. • Performs manual and exploratory testing to validate complex workflows, integrations, new features, and fixes for defects. • Investigates and resolves software defects with developers; provides clear documentation and actionable recommendations. • Leads API testing to ensure data integrity, accuracy, security, and seamless integration of the application. • Builds and enhances automated testing frameworks to increase automation coverage and maintain regression suites across multiple products. • Integrates automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. • Performs performance and load testing to evaluate system scalability, stability, and responsiveness and align with performance benchmarks. • Guides and supports junior QA engineers by offering expertise regarding best practices for testing, design of test cases, and automation techniques. • Facilitates knowledge-sharing sessions and leads discussions about testing for complex features to align QA across projects. • Identifies opportunities for process improvements; suggests and implements changes to increase efficiency and quality of testing activities. • Leverages metrics and reporting tools to evaluate testing progress, identify coverage gaps, and enhance testing effectiveness. • Collaborates with development and operations teams to validate builds and ensure production deployments are release-ready. • Presents testing outcomes, technical challenges, achievements, and metrics for product quality during stakeholder demos. • Communicates and collaborates across cross-functional teams to align development and testing efforts. • Leads discussions to align stakeholders regarding testing results, challenges, and quality goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline
- A minimum of nine (9) years of experience designing, developing, and executing test strategies and test plans for software
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test software
- Expertise in diverse testing approaches including functional, regression, integration, performance, and load-testing; and validation of new features
- Experience testing back-end services and front-end user interfaces
- Experience with test-automation tools and frameworks (such as JMeter, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium, SoapUI, automated RESTful API testing)
- Proficiency using MS SQL queries for backend validation
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology and supporting tools (such as Jira, Kanban)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure on multiple projects in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to successfully complete a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation.
