Director of Application Engineering – Development
MedAire
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing application engineering and QA teams across onshore and offshore models, fostering accountability and continuous improvement • Define and execute the application engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture • Own the full lifecycle of applications built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure, balancing feature delivery, scalability, platform stability, and technical debt reduction • Drive agile program execution across multiple teams using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks, ensuring predictable and high-quality releases • Provide technical leadership across architecture, integration, APIs, reporting solutions, and DevOps/CI/CD practices • Ensure application platforms are AI-ready and aligned with Microsoft’s AI and Copilot strategy in partnership with Architecture, Data, and Security teams • Establish engineering standards, delivery governance, and performance metrics while communicating status, risks, and dependencies clearly to senior stakeholders
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development and application engineering, with at least 5+ years leading development teams
- Proven expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise application reporting solutions
- Experience managing distributed and offshore teams while maintaining high engagement and performance standards
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD practices within cloud-based environments
- Familiarity with Azure data concepts, data visualization, and integration best practices; experience with SQL Server and legacy platforms is a plus
- A strategic, player-coach leadership style that balances technical depth with team development and execution excellence
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications such as PMP or CSM preferred)

• Support EDMS/ECM, Report or Letter Generation Systems, and/or OCR tools such as DocFinity or Onbase, xPression or IBM Cognos Analytics, or FormWorks/FIS Document Capture Manager and their supporting applications and utilities • Perform User Administration (new user accounts, permissions, password reset) and security implementations. • Attend and participate in troubleshooting triages and document root cause analyses • Analyze new releases and provide recommendations for upgrades • Install applications, patches and upgrades and configure system settings • Perform code migration/deployments • Work with other technical, functional, or development teams to support the applications • Understand and abide by security policies and procedures. • Ensure systems are performing at peak levels and system resources are appropriately monitored • Work well under pressure • Create and update documentation and diagrams • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support (approximately once a month)
