Job Description

SAT Tutor

Texas Sports Academy Main

Role Description Texas Sports Academy is hiring an expert SAT Tutor to lead test preparation for our student-athletes. This is a senior role with full ownership of the SAT preparation arc — diagnostic through test day — for a roster of motivated students preparing for competitive college admissions. The position is fully remote, which allows us to recruit the most accomplished tutors in the country regardless of geography. We are seeking a practitioner with a defined methodology, a current command of the digital SAT, and a verifiable record of producing significant, repeatable score gains. The selection criteria are weighted toward demonstrated student outcomes rather than tenure or institutional affiliation. Qualifications - Defined tutoring methodology developed over substantial experience with the SAT. - Ability to walk through specific student arcs and articulate preparation decisions. - Verifiable record of significant, repeatable score gains. - Personal SAT score of 1500 or above, or 99th-percentile equivalent on the ACT or legacy SAT. - Working expertise in the current digital SAT, including the Bluebook environment and adaptive module mechanics. - Dedicated workspace, reliable internet connection, second monitor, and a document camera or tablet for live problem-solving. Requirements - One-on-One and Small-Group Instruction: Conduct remote SAT sessions across all sections of the digital SAT. - Diagnostic-Driven Planning: Administer a full-length diagnostic test for every new student and build a week-by-week preparation plan. - Integrated Content and Strategy Instruction: Teach content mastery and test strategy in parallel each session. - Targeted Homework and Review: Assign and review focused homework between sessions and adjust the plan based on performance. - Parent Reporting: Maintain a regular reporting cadence with parents that includes section-level data and score progression. - Test-Week Strategy: Lead final-week preparation, including pacing strategy and anxiety management. - Instruction-Led Methodology: Score progression driven by direct teaching and live diagnosis. - Deep Command of the Digital SAT: Continued investment in staying current as the test evolves. - Remote-Ready Setup: Dedicated workspace and reliable technology for effective remote instruction. - Location: Remote (U.S.). U.S. work authorization required. Benefits - Fully remote position allowing flexibility in work location. Bonus Points - Student-Athlete Experience: Prior experience tutoring student-athletes or students balancing demanding training and competition schedules. - Published Outcomes: Verifiable score reports, testimonials, or references from prior families. - Admissions Fluency: Working understanding of college admissions timelines and the role of standardized testing. - Curriculum Authorship: Proprietary materials, drills, or methodology developed and refined over time.
