Job Description

Estimator – In Plant/Special Projects

Gray

• This position serves as the primary point of contact for all preconstruction efforts within the NexGen In-Plant and Special Projects Business Unit • Responsibilities range from initial contact with the customer for scope/schedule information • Coordinating with other estimators and project teams • Reaching out to subs/vendors for pricing • Building and reviewing final estimates • Creating bid forms and scope letters for final submittals • Maintaining progress status of all projects that the organization is pursuing • In-Plant Industrial Estimator - Responsible for preparing detailed estimates for in-plant industrial construction, maintenance, and special projects. This includes calculating labor, equipment, and material costs for various activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management OR a minimum of ten years’ experience in the construction industry
  • A minimum of five years of experience in estimating industrial construction / maintenance projects
  • Experience with various types of mechanical process and utility industries such as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, power, food and beverage, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles and practices
  • Proficiency in using software programs related to quantity surveying, material take-off, and estimation for in-plant and industrial construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications and other technical documents
  • Understanding of basic geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to balance and prioritize workload amongst several different opportunities at one time
  • Exhibits innovative and creative ways to provide value-adding solutions.
