Role Description The Strategy Manager will shape and accelerate the strategic direction and growth trajectory of McGraw Hill’s Higher Education business. Reporting to the Director of Strategy within the Strategy & Operations team, this Manager will work cross-functionally with leaders across the higher education business to drive the formulation, execution, and communication of business-level strategies. This high-impact role involves ensuring strategic alignment across a broad organization, identifying key growth opportunities, and providing critical data, research, and analysis to inform the overall business vision and execution. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. What You’ll do: - Drive the development and continuous refinement for key business and product areas within the MHHE portfolio, ensuring these strategies are clearly articulated and executable. - Facilitate alignment as a central strategic partner across various business functions, identifying interdependencies and opportunities for cohesion within the broader HE strategy. - Lead strategic analysis to identify new market opportunities, potential growth drivers, and competitive challenges through primary and secondary product-market research efforts. - Transform insights into clear, compelling, and actionable recommendations for business leadership, and develop compelling business cases to support new product investments. - Partner with HE leadership and the Director of Strategy in developing presentations to communicate business vision, strategy progress, and key product performance reporting to senior leadership. - Support go-to-market, partnership, and competitive intelligence efforts by providing strategic analysis and research to inform decision-making. - Support the product team with strategic documentation, cross-portfolio alignment, and research efforts that connect product strategy back to the broader HE business strategy. - Support the Strategy and Corporate Development objectives with strategic analyses and due diligence on potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnership opportunities. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience, with strong experience in areas such as corporate strategy, management consulting, product management/strategy, or equivalent business experience. - Ability to clearly structure complex problems and influence action through strong communication and presentation skills. - Experience conducting primary and secondary research in service of formulating or executing product strategy. - Maturity and presence to develop relationships at different organizational levels and across functions. - Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional environment. - Displays and acts with curiosity, initiative, integrity, and professionalism. - Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Requirements - Experience in the higher education ecosystem or EdTech industry. - Exposure to or experience with financial modeling and basic business case development. - Familiarity with digital research tools (e.g., Qualtrics) or product analytics platforms (e.g., Pendo). - Previous experience working closely with Product Management or technology leadership. Benefits - The pay range for this position is between $120,000 - $140,000 annually. - Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. - An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package. - A full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
