Our education programs facilitate the successful implementation of phone-free school environments by providing administrators and teachers with education, training, and development resources, along with all necessary equipment. In addition, Yondr supports top artists in music and comedy by creating phone-free shows, allowing performers and audience members to enjoy live performances without the distraction of phones. Overview We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead the Company’s accounting operations and financial close process as we continue to scale domestically and internationally. This role owns the integrity of our financial statements, manages the monthly close and consolidation process across multiple legal entities (including international subsidiaries), and partners closely with Finance, Supply Chain, and Leadership to support a growing business. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple revenue streams, inventory, and cross-border complexity. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Close Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple international legal entities Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including revenue recognition, inventory costing, and intercompany transactions Maintain and enforce strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures International & Multi-Entity Accounting Oversee accounting for international subsidiaries, including local statutory reporting, currency translation, and eliminations Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and transfer pricing support in coordination with tax advisors Partner with external advisors on transfer pricing, VAT, sales tax, and international compliance matters Support entity formation, system setup, and process design for new international operations Revenue & Sales Operations Oversee accounting for multiple revenue streams with different revenue recognition criteria Ensure accurate accounting for inventory, COGS, landed costs, and reserves Partner with Supply Chain on inventory controls, cycle counts, and variance analysis Audit, Tax & Compliance Lead annual financial audits, acting as primary point of contact with external auditors Support tax compliance (income tax, sales tax, VAT) in partnership with external tax providers Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings across all entities Systems, Process & Team Leadership Manage and develop the accounting team, providing mentorship and clear ownership of responsibilities Own accounting systems and integrations (ERP, AP, payroll, banking, etc.) Drive process improvements and automation to support scale and efficiency Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, and Leadership Qualifications: Benefits: 100% paid medical coverage plan option for employees and access to 15+ plan types, including PPO, HMO and HDHP Dental and vision and ancillary benefits such as short-term disability, long-term disability and life insurance Generous PTO for rest and recharge throughout the year 12 weeks of paid parental leave 1 week paid holiday break at the end of December, for a company-wide closure + 11 additional nationally recognized holidays 401(k) offering Tech tool preference, including choice of PC or Mac. Job Requirements

  • Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a Senior Manager role.
  • Strong experience with multi-entity consolidations and international subsidiaries
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience in retail, consumer products, or inventory-based businesses
  • Advanced Excel skills; comfort working with ERPs and financial systems
  • Preferred
  • CPA
  • Experience supporting international tax, VAT, or transfer pricing
  • Prior experience in a high-growth early stage business
  • Hands-on ERP implementation or system scaling experience
