BELAY
• Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting for clients • Develop and maintain budgets and a 13-week rolling cash flow • Deliver timely, monthly financial reporting and executive insights • Serve as a trusted partner to clients through periods of stabilization, growth, and transition • Partner with client leadership on growth initiatives, operational efficiency, and risk management • Provide proactive insight by identifying risks, opportunities, and compliance considerations to support client growth • Monitor client engagement health and identify opportunities for additional support, resources, or services as appropriate • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely, high-quality client support.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business required; CPA, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred
- 6–8 years as a CFO or in a high-level strategic finance role
- Ability to understand and guide day-to-day full-cycle accounting functions while operating primarily at a strategic level
- Proficiency with accounting and business platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Fathom, Shopify, Cin7, Amazon)
- Experience advising small businesses in industries such as inventory-based retail/e-commerce, creative/project-based companies, or technology startups
- Familiarity with accounting and tax methodology, as well as small business economic trends
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities while delivering high-quality, timely work in a profitable and efficient manner
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide clients and cross-functional partners
- Track record of delivering exceptional client service and strategic guidance to small businesses and startups.
