Role Description Guild is hiring a Staff Engineer to join our Grow Talent Experience team, focused on building guided core member experiences which are personalized, intuitive, and delightful. In this role, you will design and deliver robust software solutions that serve the evolving needs of members pursuing learning and career growth opportunities. As a Staff Engineer , you will: - Design, build, and own new user interfaces, services, and infrastructure. - Write clean, testable, and reusable code. Contribute to end-to-end development including testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment, ensuring high availability and quality in releases. - Lead by example in code quality, technical decision-making, and documentation practices. Create and contribute to design documents, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical discussions that communicate trade-offs clearly. - Work closely with product managers, designers, operations teams, and external client technical teams to translate business requirements into effective engineering solutions. Contribute to planning, estimation, and execution of product roadmap items. - Use operational data such as logs, metrics, and user feedback to identify and implement enhancements in performance, reliability, and developer velocity. Take ownership of resolving issues and driving root cause analysis and sustainability. - Improve internal development processes, tools, and workflows to enhance code quality, speed of delivery, and system security. - Lead engineering efforts, sharing knowledge and feedback both inside and outside your team. - Elevate the 4 other engineers on the team through mentoring and guidance. Qualifications - Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration skills, especially in a distributed working environment. - Expertise in several (or all!) of these tools and technologies: Python, TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and GraphQL. - Expertise building and owning multiple services and user interfaces - data modeling, unit and integration testing, application monitoring, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). - Expertise with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean), database technologies (Postgres, MySQL, NoSQL), and modern source control (Git / Github). - Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar. - Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI) and building AI-powered features, including assistants, summarization, RAG workflows, or vector search. - Demonstrated curiosity and interest in keeping up and experimenting with new technologies. Requirements - Ability to live and work full-time in one of the specified states. Role Description Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer - EPC. This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the United States. The primary function of the Lead Project Engineer (EPC) is to serve as the technical liaison between the product lines, field sales, and EPC customers during the execution of major sized EPC project orders. In this role, you will have technical ownership of the order and create a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. The EPC Project Engineer leverages centralized resources to manage documentation and resolve issues while building relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to deliver a successful project. This position works independently on daily tasks while also collaborating with the project manager, project coordinator, and sales team to deliver a successful project. Job Responsibilities - Act as the technical liaison and point of contact between customers, sales, and factories to efficiently carry out technical order configuration, documentation, and warranty resolutions. - Develop and maintain relationships with external EPC customers and internal customers (sales, plants, services) for assigned projects. - Review and interpret project specific contract drawings and specifications ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. - Join on-site project kick-off meetings, host customers in-person at plant inspections and witness tests, and lead/coordinate site visits for startup/commissioning and warranty work. - Host and/or lead regular project focused calls and meetings with external customers to ensure project technical details and issues are reviewed and resolved. - Manage technical changes to the bill of material – leading coordination and verification with plant engineering teams. - Coordinate and interpret engineered-to-order drawings to build customer documentation packages and answer project specific technical questions. - Leverage centralized resources to create, manage and own project specific documentation including but not limited to customer Submittal packages, Construction drawings, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and As-built drawings. - Provide warranty/quality technical support for customer issues. - Serve as the customer’s advocate and escalation point by relaying the appropriate level of urgency to contacts in Eaton’s manufacturing facilities and escalating issues as required to management. - Pursue continuous learning of Eaton products and applications related to engineered products. - Collaborate independently and maintain relationships with Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, other Project Engineers, and the Documentation Team. - Lead verbal or written communication with internal and external stakeholders to address technical scope and design concerns. - Develop and execute proactive order entry strategies that will facilitate order fulfillment and technical support as well as minimize order delay. - Analyze and communicate project risks and financial impacts based on technical changes or requirements. - Manage daily phone and email activity, providing directions, solutions and updates. - Lead training and shadowing for new hire Project Engineers. - Perform all other duties as required by Management.
