Qualifications - Active USPTO Patent Bar registration in good standing. - Minimum 4 years of patent prosecution experience post-registration. - Minimum 50 substantive biotech, pharma, or life-sciences patent matters handled. - Strong life-sciences educational background; MS or PhD strongly preferred. - Demonstrated strength handling §112 enablement and written-description strategy. - Comfortable operating independently without attorney supervision. - Experience using or evaluating AI-assisted drafting workflows. - Comfortable in a high-speed, production-oriented in-house environment. Requirements - Review, redline, prosecute, and file biotechnology patent applications generated through the Patent Engine workflow. - File provisionals, non-provisionals, continuations, and PCT applications through USPTO Patent Center. - Sign all filings under your own USPTO Patent Agent authority without attorney supervision. - Respond to office actions including §112 enablement/written description, §102/§103 prior art, and applicable §101 matters. - Conduct examiner interviews when strategically beneficial. - Identify claim-scope issues, prior-art blindspots, and unsupported mechanism-of-action claims in AI-generated drafts. - Provide structured feedback that improves Patent Engine drafting performance over time. - Partner with scientists, formulators, and inventor teams to convert disclosures and lab findings into prosecutable claim strategies.
