Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture - Own the architecture and evolution of the data platform to support large-scale, real-time, and batch data processing. - Design systems for analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and usage metering. - Ensure high standards of scalability, reliability, performance, and data quality. - Drive best practices in data engineering, system design, and observability. Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in software/data engineering, with 2+ years in engineering management. - Strong technical depth + architecture judgment - Strong experience building and scaling data platforms or distributed systems. - Hands-on experience with backend technologies like Node.js and JavaScript ecosystems. - Real experience with systems like Spark, streaming, pipelines - Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics systems. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data stack tools. - Proven ability to make architectural trade-offs and lead large technical initiatives. - Strong communication skills with experience working cross-functionally across business teams Bonus Points - Experience supporting AI/ML, experimentation platforms, or growth analytics. - Familiarity with frontend technologies like React.js for building internal tools or dashboards. - Experience handling data systems at consumer scale (millions of users). • Coach and mentor engineers—supporting growth in technical skills, ownership, and career progression • Partner with stakeholders and engineering leadership to evaluate, plan, and deliver API-first projects across advertising systems, services, and features • Drive transparency and alignment through documentation, structured processes, and clear cross-functional communication • Strengthen agile practices and continuously improve the team’s delivery predictability and maturity • Lead by example: write production-ready backend (and supporting frontend where needed) code, and ship via CI/CD on AWS • Support engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, quarterly reviews, recognition, time-off planning, training, and performance management when needed

• Manage and grow a distributed team of engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, providing consistent feedback, and supporting individual performance and career development. • Partner with product management and engineering leadership to shape the Usage squad's roadmap, strategy, and OKRs, ensuring alignment with overall company mission and customer impact. • Guide the team through the full project lifecycle, from early technical design and scoping to delivery and post-launch iteration, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes within the Usage domain (e.g., billing engine, cost management and billing app, reconciliation systems). • Act as a project manager, facilitating collaboration with Product, DealOps, GTM, Pricing and Monetization, Support, and adjacent AppCore squads to remove blockers and ensure coordinated delivery across service boundaries. • Foster a high-trust, security-first team culture that embraces thoughtful AI-assisted development practices to enhance engineering workflows and eliminate toil. • Contribute to hiring and talent acquisition efforts, partnering with People Ops to attract and retain a diverse group of engineers.
