Overview Under the direction and supervision of the Profile Variance Manager, or their designee, the Manager will be responsible for the development, management and maintenance of contract management applications, such as EPIC. The Manager will constantly seek new ways to leverage the contract management system and will look to capitalize on all features and functionality available. This individual will supervise a team responsible for identifying commercial, governmental and third-party payment variances. Further, they will be responsible for establishing efficient workflow processes, setting the department strategy, staff development and the overall management of projects and requests that are assigned to the department. This individual will also serve as are source for managed care contracting as it relates to contract modeling, contract performance, trend analysis and payer performance. Required Skills and Abilities - Knowledge and understanding of technology to support healthcare operations, including, but not limited to, database design, logic and optimization to meet business needs. - Considerable knowledge of medical office operations, professional fee billing and third party reimbursement methodologies. Demonstrated ability with managed care companies is essential. - Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. - Working knowledge of medical coding, regulatory bodies and billing compliance (i.e. HIPAA,NCQA); demonstrated ability with ANSI standard for EDI transaction sets. - Ability to communicate information effectively, both oral and written and work effectively as a team member. Principal Responsibilities - Reviews and determines staffing needs, job posting requirements, salary guidelines, and labor agreement interpretations for exempt and non-exempt staff in one or more functional department of the University. 2. Manages the administrative support needs for exempt and nonexempt staff and provides recommendations, improvements, solutions and assistance as needed. 3. Manages and monitors technology needs, conducts inventory, and system requirements for the assigned departments. 4. Develops and prepares budgets, financial forecasts, and financial analyses and the actual vs. budgeted performance reports for the departments. 5. Manages the use of facilities in one or more departments including office space, work stations, equipment, and office supplies. 6. Manages administrative support for activities of one or more departments to ensure timely completion of projects. 7. Manages and coordinates training sessions for assigned departments when new policies or practices are adopted. 8. Ensures compliance with University and federal regulations as they apply to the assigned departments. 9. Identifies, plans, and develops administrative policies for the assigned departments. 10.
