Sales Development Representative
Rise
Title: Sales Development Representative Location: Canada, Remote Full Time Department: Sales Job Description: Rise to the challenge Rise is Canada's complete people management solution that gives employers everything they need to build loyal and productive teams—all in one place. We collaborate and co-create to build solutions that completely change how companies of all shapes and sizes manage their payroll, scheduling, time tracking, group benefits, recruitment, onboarding, and more. At Rise, we're changing how work happens and how people work. We'd love for you to join us and experience the most positive, challenging, and transformative part of your career. About the role Thousands of Canadian companies trust Rise to pay, manage, and grow their people. Our pipeline is how we keep reaching the ones who haven't heard of us yet. That's where you come in. As an SDR, you're the first voice a future Rise customer hears. Your week is a mix of researching target accounts, running outbound across phone, email, and LinkedIn, and handing AEs qualified meetings that turn into pipeline. It's a role for people who are curious, consistent, and able to shake off a tough call and pick up the phone again. At Rise, we love investing in our people and promoting from within. We typically promote our top SDRs into AE seats within their first 18 months. If becoming an AE is the goal, this role is designed to get you there. The day-to-day - Prospect into target accounts with cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn messages. Tailor the message to the buyer instead of sending the same template to everyone. - Partner with Account Executives to research accounts, plan outreach, and keep handoffs clean so prospects get a smooth experience from first touch through demo. - Work with Marketing to turn campaigns, events, and content into real conversations, and feed what you're hearing on the phones back to them. - Log every call, email, and touchpoint in HubSpot so the pipeline data stays clean and reporting matches reality. - Hit (or beat) your monthly targets for meetings booked, SQLs, and pipeline contribution. - Track your own activity metrics (calls, emails, touches) and use them to figure out what's working and what isn't. About you - 1+ years in a sales, customer-facing, or SDR role, or equivalent experience. - A strong communicator. You can hold a real conversation on the phone and write emails that don't read like templates. - Resilient. You can take a no, learn from it, and dial the next number without it ruining your afternoon. - Coachable and goal-oriented. You want feedback, you track your numbers, and you actually care about getting better. - Organized enough to run a daily outbound cadence and keep your HubSpot notes current without anyone reminding you. - Comfortable working remotely and managing your own time. - Bonus: Familiarity with HubSpot. - Bonus: Background in HR tech, payroll, benefits, or SaaS sales. - Bonus: French and English bilingual proficiency. What Rise offers - Rise is all about creating a positive company culture, both for our clients and our employees. We believe that happiness isn't the cause of employee engagement; it's the result. - The base salary for this position is $50,000-65,000, depending on experience, plus commission ($62,500-81,250 OTE), and stock options. - We offer a remote work environment. On occasion, we may meet as a team or one-on-one in person. - Rise believes that time off is just as important as time spent. We offer 3 weeks of paid vacation, flexible personal wellness days, as well as one day off for your birthday and your work anniversary. - We support your growth with a personal $1,000 learning and development budget to take courses, attend conferences, webinars, you name it! - We offer no-wait benefits. This means that starting your first day, you have access to our comprehensive benefits package which includes dental, eye care, and $2,000 in counselling coverage, among many other great health benefits.
