• Provide single session telephonic and video counselling, in-the-moment support and crisis telephonic management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client-confidentiality. • Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling. • Assess and manage high risk calls and working closely with individuals at risk. • Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach. • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients. • Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system. • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
Job Requirements
- Social worker, Counsellor or Psychologist with accompanying Master’s degree Licensure or clinical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counselling or mental health services
- Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
- Experience using short-term counselling modalities such as Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness, Integrative, Systemic counselling.
- Training in crisis intervention and supporting high risk clients beneficial.
- Ability to work with clients presenting with substance abuse, situations of crisis, mental health symptoms and/or family/relationship-related concerns impacting personal or work performance.

Role Description We are recruiting for a mission-driven Nurse Advice Line (Remote but must live in Denver Metro Area) to join our team! Under general supervision, performs telephone triage under conditions that may be demanding, stressful and repetitious. Functions independently to collect data and make assessments, develop a working diagnosis, determine interventions and disposition per guidelines. Guides evaluation including instructing patient/caller how to evaluate normal/abnormal symptoms, effectiveness of treatment and when to call back. Essential Functions: - Collects patient health data to identify relevant and unique patient/caller needs. - Performs initial assessment for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patients. - Evaluates care advice for appropriateness for age of patient/caller. - Differentiates normal from abnormal findings, including potential problems. - Identifies patient needs and basic understanding of assessment findings as they relate to the practice of telephone triage. - Acts appropriately in critical situations. - Identifies unique learning needs of patient/caller and participates in their education through care advice. - Assesses for signs of abuse and makes appropriate referrals. - Reviews medications/drug dosages and allergies with health history and ensures immunizations are up to date as appropriate. - Acts as team leader as assigned to monitor the safety of the call queue and acts as liaison for staffing or interdisciplinary issues. - Acts as resource for other staff and provides feedback to supervisors as appropriate. - Analyzes assessment data to determine most appropriate guideline selection for patient/caller. - Documentation is clear and concise and reflects nursing assessment and care advice given. - Performs QI/documentation/audio audits. - Advises appropriate disposition for guideline selection for patient/caller. - Demonstrates the ability to adjust (override) the disposition according to the unique needs/situation of the patient/caller using appropriate Nursing Judgment. - Integrates quality improvement activities into practice. - Assists in identifying ways to promote quality care and in collecting data needed to promote process and operational improvements. - Integrates QA audit findings into practice. - Recognizes self-learning needs and plans to meet them. - Incorporates new knowledge obtained into practice.
