• Lead the planning and design of electrical infrastructure projects, including generators, UPS systems, critical power distribution, bypass switchgear, underground distribution, and grounding/lightning protection systems. • Perform site surveys, load studies, and engineering analyses to develop detailed reports, designs, and recommendations. • Use engineering software such as SKM and AutoCAD to support system analysis, design development, and documentation. • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, phasing plans, and review contractor design/construction submittals. • Manage project coordination activities including safety, risk, environmental planning, stakeholder communication, and routine status reporting.
Role Description Founding electrical engineer for all electrical deliverables. You deliver real power distribution and electrical engineering on live projects AND build the automated engine that makes your workflow repeatable for every future project. What You Will Do - Deliver complete electrical packages on live projects: load calculations, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, conduit sizing, equipment sizing, and IFC drawing sets. - Build and refine parametric design engines that generate electrical deliverables from a single parameter template. - Own short circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP, and define the automation strategy for these workflows. - Produce utility submittals, interconnection studies, and NEC-compliant specification packages, and template them for reuse. - Own cross-discipline coordination: electrical loads feeding mechanical equipment sizing, structural loading, and fire protection requirements. Qualifications - PE license in at least one US state preferred but not required. - Strong power distribution fundamentals (NEC 2023, load calculations, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash). - Hands-on experience with ETAP, PSCAD SKM, EasyPower, or similar power systems tools. - Working proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit Electrical, or similar drafting tools. - Ability to do the engineering and think about how to automate it. - Attitude and curiosity over years of experience.
