Role Description - Greet patients and caregivers professionally via phone, email, and virtual platforms. - Collect accurate patient demographic information, medical history, and contact details. - Prepare and process patient admission and discharge documentation. - Enter patient information into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management systems. - Maintain accurate and complete patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Verify patient identity and update existing patient profiles as needed. - Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for services prior to appointments. - Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals as required by insurance plans. - Communicate patient financial responsibilities including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance. - Process insurance information and ensure accurate billing documentation. - Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve coverage questions and discrepancies. - Stay updated on various insurance plans, policies, and procedures. - Schedule patient appointments based on provider availability and patient needs. - Send appointment reminders and confirmations via phone, email, or SMS. - Reschedule and cancel appointments as requested while maintaining optimal provider schedules. - Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize wait times. - Manage appointment waitlists and fill cancellations efficiently.
