Senior Software Engineer

• You’ll help design and operate the systems that power our financial platform. • Design and implement scalable distributed systems supporting financial transactions and real-time events • Architect services that handle real-world scale, failure scenarios, and performance constraints • Ensure strong data integrity and consistency across distributed workflows • Build secure infrastructure protecting sensitive financial data • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to accelerate development and improve engineering workflows • Contribute to AI-enabled product features and automation across the platform • Help evolve how our team integrates modern developer tools and AI-assisted engineering practices • Design systems with observability, monitoring, and failure recovery in mind • Debug complex production issues across distributed services • Improve reliability and performance of mission-critical systems • Participate in on-call rotations to maintain platform stability • Partner with product and business teams to translate customer needs into scalable technical solutions • Lead architectural decisions through hands-on implementation • Mentor engineers and help raise engineering standards across the team

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building and operating production systems
  • Strong distributed systems design experience
  • Expertise in at least one major web framework (Rails, Django, Express, Fastify, etc.)
  • Strong database knowledge including indexing, query optimization, and transactional integrity
  • Experience designing highly available production systems
  • Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure API design

Role Description The FAA Certified Aircraft Dispatcher Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, FAA-approved training to prepare candidates for Aircraft Dispatcher certification. This part-time role supports up to two training courses per year and requires in-person instruction at Scott Air Force Base during course delivery. The instructor ensures students meet FAA standards through classroom instruction, hands-on training, and individualized support. - Deliver FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certification training in accordance with approved curriculum and FAA standards. - Plan, coordinate, and execute up to two courses annually, with up to 10 students per course. - Provide in-person instruction at Scott AFB for the full duration of each course. - Be available outside normal class hours, including evenings and weekends, to support student learning needs. - Present complex aviation concepts and regulatory material in a clear, effective manner. - Incorporate applicable guidance and reference materials, including: USDOT publications, FAA Flight Information Publications and NOAA resources. - Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to ensure successful completion of training requirements. - Maintain current knowledge of FAA regulations and industry best practices. - Coordinate with program leadership on course scheduling, logistics, and training improvements. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education in aviation, aeronautics, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of relevant aviation experience. - 618th AOC Flight Management Specialist certification in accordance with AFMAN 11-255 series. - FAA-certified instructor who has delivered FAA-approved Aircraft Dispatcher training within the past 24 months. - Demonstrated experience effectively teaching complex and technical material. - Strong understanding of flight operations and dispatcher responsibilities. - In-depth knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 14 and applicable FAA Flight Dispatcher requirements. - Experience incorporating FAA, USDOT, and NOAA publications into aviation training programs. - Familiarity with aviation training systems, instructional platforms, and course delivery methods. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Ability to instruct diverse student groups with varying experience levels. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Ability to provide individualized instruction and mentoring. - Must possess a current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Requirements - This is a part-time, remote position with scheduled training events. - Requires occasional travel to Scott Air Force Base, Illinois for in-person course delivery. - Instructor must be physically present in the local area during training events. - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during instruction. - Ability to use standard computer systems and training equipment. - Ability to travel and work on-site as required.
