Data Center Project Manager – Electrical

• Lead and manage data center design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets. • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams. • Oversee the electrical engineering aspects of data center design, including generation, switchgear, critical power, and energy storage systems. • Work closely with mechanical, civil, and structural engineers to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations. • Review and approve design documents, specifications, and drawings. • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors. • Evaluate and select suppliers for electrical systems and components. • Monitor and ensure quality control of materials and workmanship. • Promote sustainable design practices and innovative technologies to enhance data center performance. • Implement energy-saving initiatives and support the company’s sustainability goals. • Ensure rigorous quality assurance processes are followed throughout the project. • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards. • Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation. • Prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders. • Ensure proper handover of completed projects to operations teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center design and project management
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including generation, distribution, conditioning, storage, and energy management
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Support relationship building and onboarding of project landowners. • Assist in site diligence in conjunction with internal teams and consultants including critical issues screening, preliminary design and energy model, landowner and utility issues. • Support the Project Manager in overseeing EPC contractors and ensuring alignment with goals, contract terms, and project timelines. • Assist in reviewing and managing EPC contractors, including tracking key deliverables, notices, change orders, and payment milestones. • Help monitor construction progress and milestone achievement, ensure timely updates are provided to stakeholders. • Coordinate engineering review of EPC contractor site-specific designs, energy models, and permitting documents for accuracy and compliance. • Coordinate internal reviews of technical submittals, RFIs, and change orders with engineering, legal, and finance teams. • Track project budgets, invoice approvals, and cost forecasts, ensuring adherence to financial controls and reporting requirements. • Maintain organized documentation in internal project management systems, ensuring traceability and compliance with audit standards. • Attend project meetings with EPCs, consultants, and internal stakeholders, documenting action items and coordinating follow-through with Project Managers. • Coordinate review of project specific design and documentation with utilities, interconnection teams, and permitting authorities to maintain project momentum and regulatory compliance. • Help coordinate project turnover process, ensuring a smooth handoff to the Asset Management team.
