Role Description The Sourcing Specialist is Hyprwork's on-the-ground execution partner inside the China manufacturing ecosystem. This is not a strategic sourcing role abstracted from the factory floor. It is a hands-on, fast-moving role where you own the relationships with our OEM partners, negotiate the commercial terms that determine our margin, and make sure product moves from idea to finished goods in days, not months. You will work directly with our Supply Chain & Logistics Manager (based in HQ) to keep our product pipeline running. The pace is fast: we run rapid product cycles, we test new SKUs aggressively, and we expect samples in marketers' hands within a week of a brief. When something breaks in the chain (a delayed shipment, a quality issue, a factory backing out of an MOQ commitment), you are the first line of defense and the first person with a recommendation. This role exists because as Hyprwork scales, the gap between an idea and a shippable product needs to keep shrinking. Your job is to close that gap, every day. What You Will Own - Sourcing & Product Development: Sourcing new products and managing end-to-end development from idea to finished goods within approximately one week. Identifying suitable suppliers within the China manufacturing network, qualifying them on quality, capacity, and reliability. Continuously developing new sourcing opportunities to expand options and reduce single-supplier dependency. - Commercial Negotiation: Negotiating and continuously improving commercial terms across product pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and lead times. Holding suppliers accountable to agreed terms and using market knowledge to drive better outcomes over time. - PO & Shipment Coordination: Monitoring purchase order status closely, coordinating with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure on-time shipment and delivery. Managing payment requests in coordination with Finance and maintaining accurate PO and payment tracking systems. - Inventory & Cash Flow Balance: Monitoring and optimizing inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for business demand while maintaining healthy inventory turnover and cash flow balance. Flagging stock risks early, before they become fulfillment problems. - UGC Sample Coordination: Coordinating UGC samples with suppliers, internal UGC teams, and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of samples for content creation and marketing campaigns. This is a high-frequency, time-sensitive workflow tied directly to marketing's content pipeline. - Risk & Quality Management: Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, production delays, and logistics issues proactively. Maintaining strong supplier relationships built on trust, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through. Qualifications - 3 to 7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management. - Strong DTC or e-commerce sourcing experience is strongly preferred. - Solid understanding of the China manufacturing ecosystem and supplier landscape, including how to qualify factories and read commercial terms in context. - Experience in exporting, international logistics, and cross-border supply chain coordination, including air and sea freight workflows. Requirements - Proven negotiation skills across pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and supplier contracts. You can describe specific moments where you improved commercial outcomes, not just maintained them. - Fluent in Mandarin (native or near-native). Working English required for cross-border communication with the HQ team, asynchronous written collaboration on Slack and Asana, and weekly syncs with the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager. - Comfortable with PO systems, Excel tracking, and inventory management tools. Familiarity with Asana and Slack is a plus. The internal stack is Asana (operational backbone), Slack (communication), Google Workspace (formal documents), and BambooHR (HR records). - Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where speed and accuracy both matter. You bring a recommendation alongside every problem you raise. You do not wait to be chased on a deliverable, and you do not let a supplier issue become someone else's surprise. Nice to Have - Experience working with fast-growing DTC brands or startups in the health, wellness, or consumer goods categories. - Familiarity with air freight and sea freight coordination and direct relationships with 3PLs. - Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance cost, speed, and quality. - Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple SKUs across rapid product cycles. Benefits - Fully remote position. - Monthly USD compensation paid via Wise on a contractor basis. - Performance reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days, followed by Hyprwork's quarterly performance cycle. - Flexible days of PTO per year, pro-rated in your first year, resetting on your work anniversary. - Days of marriage leave. - Days of bereavement leave for immediate family. - Days of parental leave, including adoption, for both primary and secondary caregivers. - Welcome gift of [amount not specified]. - Company-funded computer after 1 year of tenure, refreshed every 3 years. - $70 USD monthly wellness allowance covering cleaning services, childcare, gym, therapy, or home ergonomics. - Birthday gift card. - In-country meetup allowance. - Direct collaboration with the Head of People & Culture, with real ownership over People Operations from day one. - A high-growth, remote-first, async-first environment that rewards proactive thinking and output. - Exposure to scaling a 150-person global organization across 15+ countries. - Career path within an IC track that values expertise as much as management progression.
