Chemistry & Lab Data Expert (AI Community) Preferred availability 4 to 40 hours per week Compensation USD 20 - 50 per hour About the Role: Do you have a background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering? AI is currently learning how to help scientists design new materials, understand reactions, and read lab reports. At TELUS Digital, we need people with a "Chemistry Brain" to make sure the AI understands molecules, formulas, and safety rules correctly. You don't need to be a computer scientistyou just need to know your way around a periodic table and a lab manual. Key Responsibilities: - Check Formulas: Look at chemical equations or molecular structures written by the AI and make sure they are scientifically accurate. - Safety Review: Check if the AI is giving correct advice on how to handle chemicals or what happens when two substances are mixed. - Lab Data Cleanup: Help the AI organize data from chemistry experiments so it can find patterns in how different materials behave. - Simplify Science: Take complex chemical concepts and help the AI explain them in simple terms for students or non-experts. Mandatory Qualifications: - Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry - Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language. We need you to know how chemistry is taught and discussed in your home country. - English Proficiency: Basic (B1) English to understand the project instructions. - Accuracy: You understand that in chemistry, a single wrong letter or number in a formula changes everything. Assessment: In order to be hired into our community, you'll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification. At TELUS, you are helping to build the data foundation for autonomous vehicles, drones, and the industrial metaverse. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities): - 3D Bounding Box Annotation: Placing precise 3D cubes (bounding boxes) around objects in point-cloud data to help AI identify their size, location, and orientation in space. - Semantic Segmentation: "Painting" 3D maps to categorize different surfacesdistinguishing between a drivable road, a sidewalk, and a permanent obstacle. - Point-Cloud Cleaning: Reviewing raw sensor data from self-driving cars or robots to remove "noise" (like rain or dust) so the AI sees a clear picture of reality. - Simulated Data Validation: Comparing AI-generated 3D environments against real-world captures to ensure the digital version is a faithful "twin" of the physical one. - Spatial Logic Testing: Answering simple questions about 3D scenes (e.g., "Is the drone's path clear of the overhead wire?") to validate the model's spatial reasoning.
