Senior Field Applications Engineer

• Building key technical relationships at top accounts demonstrating great technical credibility increasing customer technical confidence in NI • Understanding and assisting in creation of customer technical requirements • Provide recommendations on software and hardware architectures while helping to understand the next steps to ensure success • Collaborating with the NI Account Manager(s) as part of an account team to lead development and execution of the account technical strategy providing insight to the overall account strategy and pipeline • Coordinating with and informing internal technical stakeholders to execute on account technical initiatives and provide feedback to increase account success • Leveraging industry, application area, and account knowledge to uncover and influence customer future technical needs and challenges generating further technical demand for NI products, services, and support

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • 3 years of programming experience
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Degree concentration in electrical or computer engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and NI PXI platform, including developer certifications (preferred)
  • English Language Competency and effective oral and written communication skills (preferred)
  • Advanced skill in at least one of the following programming languages: LabVIEW, .NET, Python, C++, C# (preferred)
  • Advanced skill in FPGA development using VHDL or LabView FPGA (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role (preferred)
  • Experience contributing to organization, account, or engagement strategies (preferred)

• The Service Technician performs work remotely at customer sites; installing and servicing equipment while also providing customer training and support, as necessary. • Troubleshoots and repairs injection molding machines and robots, including conducting tests and inspections on all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic or software components including calibrations to optimize performance. • Performs software and hardware installations. • Performs all safety checks on equipment. • Educates customers on equipment and instructs on proper operation. • Manages resolution of customer issues, including order and installation of replacements parts as necessary. • Orders replacement parts with diagnoses of problems with control systems and develops an organized approach to solving machine problems and repairs/replaces parts as required. • Instructs other Service Technicians and/or customer operators on the maintenance and safe operations of injection molding systems. • Communicates on an ongoing basis with Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center to obtain answers to problems encountered in the field. • Provides written reports on a regular basis to the Service Manager.
