Sales Engineer – DevOps Background

Sonatype

• Work with our customers to understand their current software development practices, documenting observations and potential areas to improve them with Sonatype’s solutions • Develop and present technical perspectives and illustrative approaches to improve customer Software Supply Chain and DevSecOps practices. • Deliver compelling software demonstrations, and support proof-of-concept (POC) evaluation and reference architectures showcasing the value of our solutions. • Collaborate with account managers by providing technical input to support customer evaluations and internal opportunity assessment processes, while all commercial discussions remain outside the scope of this role. • Attend and present at meetups and trade shows, sharing experiences, building presence and awareness.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience developing software and / or a proven pre-sales or consulting background
  • Experience working in roles that support technical evaluation processes without direct responsibility for commercial negotiations or contract closure
  • An empathetic approach to customers is required, along with the ability to clearly understand their problems and form well-reasoned technical perspectives.
  • Highly technical who is in tune with the latest approaches in DevOps / DevSecOps and has some experience in application security
  • Familiarity with a wide range of tooling used in the SDLC is required.
