Role Description The Sr Prior Authorization Specialist promotes an excellent patient experience by ensuring authorizations are in place for services performed at Children's Minnesota prior to their admission to our facilities to secure payment and reduce the out of pocket costs to our patients and families. This position is responsible for all duties associated with prior authorizations including: - Reviewing insurance benefits - Understanding third party requirements - Securing authorizations for services - Appealing pre-service authorization denials - Appealing authorization related claim denials Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED - Post-secondary education in a related field preferred - Three years' experience in a healthcare or related field - Preferred experience: Three years' experience in medical billing/prior authorization/insurance Requirements - Knowledge in governmental and commercial payors, medical billing requirements, and prior authorizations - Demonstrated knowledge of Prior Authorization operations and medical office and/or hospital procedures - Ability to interpret and cascade payor requirements as they relate to insurance prior authorizations - Ability to effectively work in both a team environment and independently - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, patients, families, and employees - Ability to effectively work in a remote environment and connect via multiple communication channels (phone, email, text, etc.) - Knowledge of how prior authorization functions impact billing, clinical teams, the quality of care and the patient experience - Ability to meet and exceed departmental quality, production and prior authorization standards - Ability to review and resolve denials pertaining to Prior Authorizations - Ability to suggest workflows that improve efficiency and experience - Ability to mentor and motivate a remote team that delivers exceptional customer service via multiple communication channels (phone, email, text, etc.) - Skill in Microsoft Office - Skill in written and oral communication Benefits - Medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits - Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay

Role Description As the Documentation/ Scheduling Specialist (Claims Analyst II), you will intake, analyze, validate and categorize/classify appeals hearings case documentation from appellants and perform data entry of required fields into the CMS Hearings and Appeals tracking system. In addition, you will have responsibility for the coordination and scheduling of hearings with the Hearing Officer, Legal professionals, and other interested stakeholders. Overall responsibility includes intake, analysis, and categorization of documentation and scheduling in support of the Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board (MGCRB). - Issues are found in the case file, such as missing or questionable documentation; the DSS will be responsible for escalating the matter to the Paralegal staff and/or Hearings officer, as appropriate. - DSS performs an in-depth review to confirm that regulatory requirements are present. - After the appeal is categorized according to the issue and entered into the tracking system, the DSS creates reports, such as Intake Review Report. - The final step in the intake process is the identification of motions, objections, and preliminary matters. Using a checklist, a DSS reviews the appeal to identify any preliminary matters and classify them into matters that can be resolved quickly prior to the commencement of briefing. - After the date and time of the conference is finalized, DSS drafts a Notice of Pre-Hearing Teleconference for the Hearing Officer Review. - After an in-person, video, or telephonic hearing, the DSS ensures that the HO has received the transcript, uploads it into the tracking system, emails a copy of the transcript to required parties, and contacts the appellant with information regarding its availability. Role Description Under the direction of the Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Management, the Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all assigned claims. This role includes: - Promptly addressing daily correspondence from physician practices. - Reviewing and appealing insurance claim denials. - Following up on aged claims. - Taking necessary steps to resolve all claim issues or questions that escalate to the RCM team, including Salesforce case management.
