Commercial Business Development Manager Discovery

GenScript/ProBio

Role Description As a Commercial BD Manager in the Discovery business line, you will be responsible for driving and supporting sales initiatives by implementing ProBio's custom discovery sales and marketing strategies. You will utilize your scientific knowledge and business acumen, including corporate contacts, to develop and execute profitable projects and boost sales. Key Responsibilities - Territory Development and Goal Achievement: - Expand and develop the assigned sales territory for ProBio's custom life science service lines related to the Discovery business and meet the sales targets for the assigned territory. - Work closely with the Marketing team and Sales team to promote the ProBio brand in line with the team's sales objectives. - Spend 30% of your time on quote and lead follow-up, account management, and 70% of your time traveling for customer visits and relationship-building to achieve the monthly/quarterly/yearly sales goals. - Strategy and Tactics: - Work with the Regional Commercial BD Manager to formulate and execute territory sales strategies and tactics for services, new markets, and new applications within the Discovery business. - Cooperate with Area Director to ensure all necessary actions are taken to secure business in a competitive Discovery market. - Customer Alignment: - Be responsible for understanding the customer's research application in the Discovery area and matching ProBio services to meet the requirements of the customer's research project. - Market Knowledge Sharing: - Share market insights with the Sales and Marketing teams through a weekly field feedback report within the context of the Discovery business. - Market Expansion: - Introduce ProBio to new markets - Industrial/Academic/Governmental - specifically in relation to the Discovery services. - Drive business expansion in partnership with the Marketing within the Discovery. Qualifications - A Bachelor's degree or above in scientific disciplines, preferably majoring in life science areas relevant to the Antibody. - Relevant sales experience (1 - 3 years) in the Discovery business or related fields is required, along with a high level of technical and professional expertise. - Market Knowledge of the Biological and CRO or CDMO market or the general biotech industry, with an emphasis on areas relevant to the Discovery business such as Bioassays, Antibody, and Cell Line Products/Services is preferred. - International Business Skills: The ability to operate effectively in an international business environment within the Discovery business and succeed in such an environment. - Sales Forecasting: The ability to accurately forecast sales within the territory on a weekly basis within the Discovery business. Job Description About the Role The Dermatology sales force is primarily responsible for driving demand following potential regulatory approval for the assigned product through education. They are responsible for educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing the business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics and hospital accounts that specialize in the Dermatology therapeutic area. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) will be required to demonstrate excellence in developing and applying business processes that benefit patients and lead to the achievement of sales goals and objectives.
