Job Description

Strategy & Business Operations Associate

SKUTOPIA

Role Description The Strategy & Business Operations team is a team of expert generalists - equal parts thought-partners to leadership and hands-on operators leading the company’s biggest cross-functional projects. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Business Operations, this role owns its share of SKUTOPIA’s most complex and business-critical problems end-to-end. You’ll lead high-impact strategic projects, and provide hands-on generalist support across Growth, CS, and Operations. It’s a front-row seat to how a fast-scaling business actually runs - direct exposure to every part of the company and real influence on the outcomes. The perfect role for management consultants who want to become operators rather than advisors. Key Responsibilities - Own and lead cross-functional projects end-to-end - often as a hands-on builder rather than just a coordinator. - Redesign processes that span operations, customer success, and growth, building automations and agents to support them, and driving adoption across the teams involved. - Lead the research, analysis, and synthesis on key strategic questions - turning data into clear recommendations that shape company-level direction. - Support the OKR refresh cycle and shepherd business-level projects through to real impact - not just delivery. - Partner closely with the Strategy & Business Operations Manager across their projects - including the company-wide Claude rollout they lead for non-tech teams. - Work directly with the Head of Strategy & Business Operations and the CEO on special projects - capital raising, corporate development, and other strategic mandates. Qualifications - 1-3 years in management consulting. - A quantitative academic background (STEM, economics, finance). - Start-up operations experience. - Exposure to retail, logistics, robotic automation, or SaaS are a plus. - Strong business acumen with a highly structured, logical, and analytical approach to problem solving. - Highly developed analytical and technical skills, especially with Claude or other similar AI tools. - Organisational rigour - comfortable owning multiple projects in parallel without things falling through the cracks. - Exceptional communication skills, and confidence working with diverse groups of senior stakeholders. - An unusual tendency to get sharper, not slower, when the pace picks up. Benefits - Competitive remuneration. - Flexible working environment. - Supportive team culture. - Free barista coffee every day for Sydney team. - 25% off café menu for Sydney team. - Corporate gym discount with PlusFitness for Sydney team. - Flexible working arrangements for Melbourne and remote team members. What's next? If you're keen to find out more, apply now with your resume and cover letter and we'll be in touch soon. There will be an initial ‘getting to know you’ meeting to provide more detail about the role and answer your questions. We may then provide a skills based task followed by a final interview.

• Rethink how we work today: Map out existing workflows, identify points of failure or inefficiency, and propose solutions that improve accuracy or speed. • Build smart prototypes and solutions: Use low-code/no-code tools (and some vibe code) to help teams move faster and smarter. Make thoughtful calls on when to automate, redesign, or delegate. • Own execution: Take a project from concept to completion—whether it’s rebuilding a manual workflow, unlocking a new key capability, or implementing a new internal tool. • Partner across functions: Collaborate with stakeholders across the org (Ops, Finance, and GTM teams) to understand pain points, deliver real impact, and help shift ways of working. • Serve as a force-multiplier: Help our team—and company—live out the philosophy of “doing more with less” through emerging tech.
