Role Description TEKsystems is seeking a Mid-Level Cloud Security Engineer for its Anchorage Alaska-based client. This resource will work Monday through Friday, during typical daytime business hours in the Alaska Time Zone. This is a mid-level Cloud Network Engineer role supporting enterprise data center, campus LAN, internet edge, and office networks. The engineer will work closely with Cloud Network Engineers, Cloud Systems Engineers, and DevOps teams to design, deploy, and maintain hybrid cloud and Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) platforms. • Provide advanced networking expertise within the Managed Services organization and serve as a subject matter expert and senior escalation point for complex network and firewall issues. • Own the full lifecycle of complex network and firewall incidents, from detection through resolution and post-incident review, ensuring accountability for technical outcomes, stability, and documentation. • Lead investigation and resolution of critical network incidents, driving coordination across internal teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders. • Make technical decisions and take end-to-end ownership of network issues, driving resolution without reliance on further escalation. • Lead technical delivery of network projects, including scoping, estimation, design, and implementation. • Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term remediation strategies to prevent recurrence. • Validate and approve network changes, designs, and remediation strategies. • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet networking and firewall equipment. • Conduct targeted cleanup and improvements of existing network environments to ensure stability and scalability, minimizing customer downtime. • Collaborate with the security team to ensure proper network hardening is in place and that all risks are properly mitigated or remediated. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. • Contribute to architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks. • Maintain awareness of developments within the networking and security technology landscape, recommending new solutions when necessary. • Accurately track time and project activities within the company's time tracking system.
