Controls Design Engineer, Electrical
Ehvert Mission Critical
• Support the design and documentation of control systems for mission-critical projects, including large-scale data centers. • Develop and produce control system design drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. • Support the design of building automation and control systems for HVAC and related systems under the guidance of senior engineers. • Assist with layout, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs for control systems. • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent design delivery. • Contribute to low-voltage system design efforts, including controls, fire alarm, and related systems as needed. • Update and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project standards. • Support design reviews by incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions. • Assist with preparation of submittals, as-built drawings, and commissioning documentation. • Follow internal QA/QC processes and applicable industry standards and codes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–6+ years of experience in controls design, building systems, or low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in Revit is strongly preferred; experience with AutoCAD required.
- Basic understanding of BAS/BMS systems, DDC controls, and integration with HVAC systems.
- Exposure to fire alarm and/or other low-voltage systems (security, communications) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow technical direction.

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for the design and implementation of PLC-based control systems • Lead the design and development of control systems, including control panel layouts • Develop complete PLC I/O architectures and prepare construction documentation • Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, programmers, and field teams • Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings and as-built documentation
