• Edit raw footage into polished, cinematic, and engaging video content optimized for social media, paid advertising, OTT/streaming platforms, and branded campaigns. • Develop compelling pacing, storytelling structure, sound design, motion graphics, transitions, and color grading that elevate the final product. • Collaborate closely with creative stakeholders while also contributing original ideas and recommendations. • Stay current on video trends, platform best practices, and emerging creative styles to continuously improve content performance. • Export and optimize content across multiple formats and aspect ratios including 16:9, 9:16, 4:5, and 1:1. • Manage multiple rounds of revisions professionally and efficiently. • Ensure all deliverables meet high-quality standards for audio, color consistency, branding, pacing, and overall polish. • Clearly communicate creative decisions and incorporate feedback effectively. • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment. • Maintain organized project files, templates, assets, b-roll libraries, and backup systems. • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and creative output.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional video editing experience, preferably within an agency, media company, or high-volume creative environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Experience with color grading and audio mixing; DaVinci Resolve experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, motion graphics, and direct-response creative.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Openness to learning and utilizing emerging Generative AI tools and workflows within the creative process.
  • Portfolio or demo reel showcasing a range of editing styles including social content, paid advertising, commercials, and brand storytelling.

About the Opportunity This position will schedule, supervise, and manage editing and production of WVU Press and FiT Publishing titles, from transmittal of approved manuscripts managing print runs, reprints, and digital adaptation of content, working with contracted vendors, freelancers, production staff, and student workers as appropriate.
