About the role This role sits within the Assessment Operations Directorate which is responsible for developing, managing and delivering the assessment and examination processes for students in NSW. The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for planning and co-ordination of the processing of all Higher School Certificate (HSC) and Record of School Achievement (RoSA) student enrolments, examination and assessment data. The role ensures accuracy of the information in the examination system database. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for: - Leading the Data Engineering team in the development and delivery of data collection. - Analysing systems to guide the business unit's decision-making on matters relating to the processing of all student enrolments, examination and assessment data. - Providing effective leadership in the development and implementation of data collection and analysis systems. - Conducting quality assurance of the data collections. - Providing timely, expert and strategic advice on issues and trends relating to the role of data in supporting the work of the business unit. - Developing and implementing strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of data. - Developing and managing quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform strategic planning and the effective targeting of resources and to meet NESA reporting requirements.
