Role Description As an Account Manager based on the east or central region, you will be responsible for managing and growing assigned customer accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities within your territory or market segment. This role focuses on driving profitable sales growth, increasing account penetration, and delivering strong customer satisfaction through a consultative, relationship-based sales approach. Given the scale of the North American business, this position offers strong visibility with leadership and meaningful opportunities for professional growth. - Develop, manage, and grow relationships with existing customer accounts while identifying and closing new business opportunities. - Promote and sell products and services using a consultative, value-based sales approach. - Execute sales activities including prospecting calls, customer visits, follow-up, and account planning. - Prepare clear, accurate proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers. - Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize value and profitability across accounts. - Create and manage customer value plans that identify growth, share expansion, and revenue opportunities. - Coordinate closely with internal teams including marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service to deliver integrated customer solutions. - Manage customer expectations and satisfaction through service level agreements and proactive communication. - Establish accurate monthly sales forecasts, track performance against targets, and report on progress. - Manage Day Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Accounts Receivable (AR) in collaboration with customers and internal partners. - Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, and product applications to identify opportunities and risks. - Participate in trade shows and industry events as needed to support business development. - Provide regular oral and written updates to management on customer needs, challenges, competitive activity, and growth potential. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a related business field required. - Minimum of 7+ years of sales experience, preferably within paper, packaging, or a related industrial/manufacturing environment. - Proven ability to manage accounts from prospecting through contract close using a consultative sales approach. - Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. - Results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer needs and deliver value-based solutions. - Proficient in standard business and computer applications; CRM experience preferred. - Willingness and ability to travel as required (at least 50%). - Professional, polished presence with a high sense of urgency and accountability.
