Regional Sales Manager

Role Description In this role, you will have the opportunity to bring new business opportunities and improve the existing ones by supporting the Sales organization with relevant knowledge of products and markets. Each day, you will support the defined Sales organization and customers throughout the sales process in your assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by participating in sales strategy discussions for the assigned area, agreements on short-term and long-term goals, and negotiation of the division sales budget. The work model for the role is: #LI-Remote in the US with 60% travel required. This role is contributing to the ABB Emergency Lighting ELSB in US Market. Main stakeholders are EML Emergency Lighting. Your Role and Responsibilities: - Creating the division sales plans for the area, in coordination with the Sales organization and teams. - Analyzing the customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and the information provided by the Sales organization. - Ensuring efficient marketing actions (e.g., product launches) and communications to the Sales organization and customers, communicating the value proposition of the products, systems, services, and packages provided by the company. - Supporting the Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions, as well as in the preparation of competitive/strategic offers. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other relevant field, equivalent work experience will be considered. - 7 or more years’ demonstrated sales, business development and account management experience within the lighting industry, with experience in Emergency lighting. - Proven experience working in a highly technical sales team with an emphasis on Fire and Safety codes. - Ability to interpret electrical drawings/schematic diagrams/single line drawings in div 26 specifications and plans. - You are at ease communicating in small and large groups while presenting. - Proficient with MS Office Suite. - You hold current LC certification valid in the US. • You lead, coach and develop a Belgium-based team of 4 sales representatives and 1 educator to deliver against business objectives, with a strong focus on hospital account performance and execution quality • You provide Belgium leadership as a member of the Benelux Leadership Team (BLX LT), ensuring tight alignment between Belgium & Luxembourg field execution and Benelux priorities, governance and cadence • You drive retention and growth of the installed base across the area by ensuring structured, proactive account management, disciplined prioritisation, and a strong field cadence (e.g., 1:1s, work-withs, team rhythm) • You drive Belgium business planning: segment and target the market opportunity, translate priorities into clear account/territory plans, and track progress via CRM and analytics to focus resources where they move the needle • You drive tender readiness and execution: coordinate the tender response process and RACI, mobilise inputs (value story, evidence, documentation and pricing inputs), and ensure disciplined post-outcome execution at account level • You maintain and drive a visible Belgium tender pipeline/tracker and run a regular internal rhythm to keep stakeholders aligned on status, risks, deadlines and next steps • You partner closely with internal stakeholders to address tender-driven operational requirements (for example, electronic invoicing expectations)
