Job Description

Cloud & IT Infrastructure Engineer

32Co

• Deploy, manage, and optimise cloud VMs (Azure Virtual Desktop and/or AWS WorkSpaces) for 60+ remote contractors across India, Egypt, and the Philippines • Own on/offboarding workflows, access provisioning, monitoring, and incident response • Architect the VM estate as we scale, including platform decisions (AWS vs Azure) and cost optimisation • Own the core treatment planning application used by our designer team - end to end: server performance, database management, disk space, version updates, and multi-server architecture as we grow • Build runbooks and escalation paths so day-to-day application issues are handled without senior engineers being the only escalation path • Work directly with the software vendor on scaling and architectural decisions • Enrol and manage all company laptops via Microsoft Intune MDM, enforcing encryption, antivirus, and patch compliance • Administer users, licences, SSO, and security settings across the organisation • Be the primary point of contact for IT support across 40 London staff and 60+ remote contractors • Own account creation, access provisioning, and tool permissions end-to-end for all new starters and leavers • Support 32Co's ISMS and GDPR, ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliance programmes • Patching, monitoring, licensing management, and capacity planning across all systems

Job Requirements

  • 4-7 years in IT infrastructure, cloud ops, or similar - ideally in a high-growth startup or scale-up
  • Hands-on with cloud VM environments: Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, or equivalent
  • Experience administering Microsoft Intune MDM and Google Workspace at an organisational level
  • Comfortable owning a full IT function independently - helpdesk, device management, access control, vendor management
  • Thinks in systems and automation - your instinct after solving a problem is "how do I never solve this manually again?"
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and making sensible decisions without detailed specs
  • Excited about AI as a practical tool - to automate workflows, build internal bots, or reduce toil
  • Strong spoken and written English; communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders
  • Available for meaningful UK hours overlap - roughly 6am-3pm UK time

Benefits

  • A rare opportunity to be the first IT/Infra hire at a fast-scaling health-tech company - you'll build the function from scratch with real autonomy
  • Real infrastructure challenges from day one - cloud VM architecture, HIPAA compliance, scaling a production server-side application across a global team
  • Opportunity to work closely with a strong engineering team and direct exposure to senior leadership
  • 32Co is growing fast - your scope and impact grow with it
  • AI-first from the ground up - a chance to reshape what an IT function looks like with AI at its core

As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be a primary operational owner of our infrastructure systems — handling day-to-day support, incident response, change execution, and maintenance across the platform stack.
