Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer
Progressive Leasing
Role Description We are currently hiring a Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved! This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in our corporate office in Draper, Utah. As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be a primary operational owner of our infrastructure systems — handling day-to-day support, incident response, change execution, and maintenance across the platform stack. Operational excellence is the foundation of this role, not a secondary responsibility. From that foundation, you'll also contribute to the automation, tooling, and architectural work that gradually shifts the team toward a less reactive future. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Designing, operating, and supporting AWS-based infrastructure across a multi-account environment, focusing on reliability, scalability, and operational clarity. - Supporting and evolving our EKS/Kubernetes platform — clusters, underlying AWS infrastructure, networking integrations, and shared platform components. - Contributing to and maintaining Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code, including shared modules and production repositories. - Working across DNS, DHCP, routing, load balancing, and WAF technologies (Imperva primary; broad understanding of AWS ALB/NLB) to support application traffic and secure access patterns. - Participating in Active Directory architecture, administration, and integration with cloud and platform services. - Sharing ownership of SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management — a core responsibility of the Infrastructure Operations group. - Building automation and tooling in Bash, PowerShell, or similar to streamline provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows. - Leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate troubleshooting, draft and improve runbooks, and reduce repetitive operational overhead. - Collaborating with application, security, and network teams using GitOps-style workflows (GitHub, CI pipelines, change review). - Participating in a rotational on-call schedule and CAB reviews for significant infrastructure changes. - Driving new architecture, expansion, and modernization efforts alongside ownership of existing systems. Qualifications - Hands-on experience with core infrastructure: DNS, DHCP, routing, load balancing, and Linux/Windows operating systems and services. - Strong working knowledge of AWS, including multi-account environments. - Practical experience with Terraform and IaC principles, including contributing to shared repositories. - Experience supporting Kubernetes/EKS or comparable container platforms. - Comfort using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to accelerate infrastructure work — writing scripts, diagnosing issues, or exploring unfamiliar systems. - Familiarity with WAF and traffic management concepts (Imperva a strong plus). - Experience designing, administering, and integrating Active Directory environments. - Scripting fluency in Bash, PowerShell, or similar — building one-off tooling, bootstrap automation, and deployment workflows. - Comfort operating in production with shared ownership, change management, and on-call responsibility. - Ability to collaborate effectively across platform, network, security, and application teams. Benefits - Competitive Compensation + Bonus Potential - Full Health Benefits; Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance + Paid Parental Leave - Company Matched 401k - Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays + Paid Volunteer Time - Diversity Alliance Resource Groups - Employee Stock Purchase Program - Tuition Reimbursement - Charitable Gift Matching - Job Required Equipment & Services Will Be Provided
