Connectivity Integration Lead, Data Center Infrastructure

Meta

Role Description Meta is seeking an experienced Connectivity Integration Lead to join our Data Center Design, Engineering, & Construction (DEC) Operations team. The Connectivity Integration Lead (CIL) reports to the Connectivity Integration Manager and serves as the DEC Connectivity subject matter expert (SME) supporting multiple data centers across the programmatic portfolio of sites. This critical role ensures standardized builds, risk identification and mitigation, captures lessons learned, and provides training and onboarding to both internal and external resources. The CIL is a mentor, providing expertise in DEC telecommunications design, standards, products, quality, operations, tooling, and vendor management to the field. The CIL may support 6-8 sites/regions, and will require travel, up to 50% of time, to ensure effective support and collaboration across the portfolio. A consistent focus on meeting milestones, managing risks, and delivering projects on schedule is essential, prioritizing team health, project success, financial stewardship, and effective collaboration with cross-functional partners within our matrixed organization. Responsibilities - Provide support to Site Teams for the planning, procurement, and execution of the connectivity scope, from installation commencement to Server Ready dates and through the transition to Operational Partners. - Ensure clear, concise, and timely communication to the broader organization regarding any impact on capacity delivery, correctly elevating issues for awareness and escalating as needed for leadership action. - Drive the embedment and design integration of new and existing connectivity systems across the program/portfolio. - Contribute significantly to the Preconstruction planning for New Build and Retrofit projects. - Collaborate with multiple cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Delivery, Network Hardware, Infrastructure Enablement, Edge Network Services, and others, to drive cohesive program execution. - Provide timely feedback to DEC Engineering and DEC Design on project deliverables, including design documents, specifications, BOMs, system requirements, and other artifacts necessary for successful implementation by site delivery teams. - Offer support and guidance to the project team during the scope of connectivity execution, including best practices, quality reviews, systems testing, and auditing. - Monitor and report on the performance of both Meta-contracted and General Contractor-contracted telecom contractors and the General Contractor's performance for connectivity scope. - Assist the site team in facilitating changes, including the addition of Tech Mods, system requirement changes, or business-requested changes. - Review and approve contracts and change orders within signing authority, and review/advise on those above signing authority. - Coordinate efforts with other Connectivity Integration Leads to ensure consistency and alignment of priorities and sharing Lessons Learned and Best Practices. - Ensure the timely and appropriate resolution of issues across the sites. - Oversee the onboarding of Connectivity Engineers and support recruitment, interviewing, and hiring decisions across the portfolio. - Develop high-impact relationships with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization and create a strategy across the portfolio. - Request and provide fast feedback when appropriate to support the continuous improvement of projects, partners, and peers. Qualifications - 12+ years of experience in structured cabling, including managing vendors in hyperscale data centers, large-scale construction, and/or other related fields. - Proven track record of managing the delivery of quality structured cabling installations in hyperscale data centers. - Ability to reprioritize work across multiple sites in response to shifting business needs, communicating changes and trade-offs to stakeholders. - Possess persuasive communication and presentation skills, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide solutions to complex problems by prioritizing competing demands based on impact and deadlines. - Experience in creating and driving strategic initiatives across a global portfolio. - Experience in training and mentoring others on technologies, installation methods, products, and processes. Preferred Qualifications - Experience managing IT or IP network deployment projects in a mission-critical environment, requiring coordination across multiple disciplines for the delivery of a common goal. - Experience in data center engineering, design, commissioning, operations, telecommunications, network infrastructure, and ground-up new build site development and construction, as well as retrofit work in live environments. - 15+ years of experience in structured cabling installation, data center development, and/or construction management experience. - Advanced degrees in engineering and/or business administration. - Experience in leading deployments of Network/Structured cabling infrastructure at scale. - Proven skills and understanding of hyperscale network topography and design principles.
