Authorization Specialist
OneOncology
Role Description The Authorization Specialist role is responsible for all administrative aspects of outpatient diagnostic testing and procedure benefit verification and authorization. This role will ensure patient’s insurance requirements for reimbursement before diagnostic testing or procedure. - Obtains pre-authorizations for Physician Orders for diagnostic testing or procedure as required by the patient’s insurance carrier. - Ensures the financial feasibility of treating each patient in our clinics by communicating and working closely with patients, physician, nurse, and social worker. - Works in specific areas of concern in the department on a project basis. - Assists Patient Finance Manager in training staff, projects, and implementations. - Maintains in-depth knowledge of authorization process as well as reimbursement methodologies. - Maintains knowledge of collection techniques and collection laws. Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent required. - One year experience in a directly related role preferred, but not required. - 1+ year(s) of Prior Authorization experience. - Medical insurance background required. Requirements - Attendance is an essential job function. - Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues. - Ability to demonstrate initiative and mature judgment. - Ability to demonstrate high degree of professionalism and adaptability. - Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the use of end-user computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), database and patient scheduling and other medical information systems. - Ability to demonstrate strong customer service delivery skills. - Ability to utilize websites, portal and electronic options when available to increase efficiency. - Ability to follow oral and written instructions. - Ability to recognize and solve problems using creative thinking skills, hands-on problem solving skills and the ability to analyze and respond to data. - Skilled at effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations. - Skilled at multi-tasking, organizational skills and superb attention to detail. - Working knowledge of Hospice and other payer requirements. - Knowledge of clinic office procedures, medical practice and medical terminology. Role Description The ideal candidate for our Senior Contracts Specialist role will have experience negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial contracts and managing a high-volume automated contracting process. Contract types include: - Software as a service (SaaS) agreements - Reseller and referral agreements - Amendments - Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) - And more This role will engage and collaborate cross-functionally with other business units at all levels throughout the global organization to ensure that contracts follow the required processes and adequately protect the company’s interests. This role will also be the first line to interpret contract requirements, obligations, and risk exposure while advising the business as to the appropriate course of action. What You’ll Do - Contract Management and Execution (70%) - Negotiate and draft agreements including SaaS agreements, reseller and referral agreements, NDAs, and other contracts. - Review and negotiate agreements with suppliers, customers, and other third parties. - Assist in the maintenance of contract forms and contract processes. - Communicate with internal departments to coordinate contract reviews and approvals. - Ensure that contract provisions are clear and conform to company policies, contract law, and applicable regulations. - Identify and report potential risk associated with customer and supplier contracts. - Assist in assessment of customer and corporate risk. - Other Legal Duties (30%) - Support finance, people team, facilities, risk management (including insurance), and legal initiatives such as litigation and merger and acquisition activities, as requested. - Assist with corporate governance. Qualifications - 3–5 years (mid-level) of contract review and management experience at a fast-paced, high-growth technology company preferred. - Experience in SaaS and cloud-based deployment business models preferred. - Must have hands-on experience reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts through both negotiated contracts with sophisticated customers and automated contract processes. - Must have ability to identify problems and engage others toward solutions. - Experience developing and maintaining strong, professional working relationships with the sales organization and other internal stakeholders. - Experience and flexibility working across cultures and time zones a plus. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Experience communicating with executive-level management and sales teams. - Familiarity with contract management and drafting tools. Role Description This position will report to the Billing Manager and is responsible for managing end-to-end customer invoicing with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. The role leads the research, analysis, and resolution of complex billing discrepancies and customer disputes, partnering cross-functionally to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
