Job Description

Technical Sales Manager

ICL Group

• Achieve/exceed territory sales budgets across the ICL product portfolio • Build relationships with existing retail and distribution clients within the territory • Expand relationships with new distributors, retailers, growers • Develop a sales growth plan for market expansion within the territory • Provide technical support to customers on the use of granular, liquid, water-soluble, and controlled-release fertilizers used in Agriculture • Develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy derived from the business plan including responsible management of company budgets • Provide market insight into competitor activity • Produce sales forecasts on an annual basis and monthly updates to support the ongoing S&OP process • Represent the organization at trade shows, events, and demonstrations • Fully utilize SalesForce for recording customer interactions and review SAP dashboard reports to manage the territory

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field preferred with coursework in plant science, soil science, plant health, and plant nutrition preferred
  • Must reside within the assigned territory
  • A minimum of three years of experience and demonstrated success with agricultural sales
  • Existing distributor, retail, and/or large grower connections within the geography
  • Experience developing complete nutrient management programs following Good Agronomic Practices (GAP)
  • Analytical skills: the ability to read and understand nutritional values relating to soil, water, and plant material
  • Must be able to manage personal goals, and corporate objectives and keep a customer-centric focus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations
  • Computer skills to include: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Map Point
  • Must have excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in an outdoor setting that may be cool, wet, hot, or dry and could require standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50lbs in cool, wet, hot, or dry conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute and collaborate in a team environment
  • Enthusiastic problem solver with a can-do attitude
