Manager, Commercial Underwriting – Structured Finance

• Set and maintain the credit culture and manage new business underwriting process for all transactions. • Train and further develop the Underwriting team as well as offer support and guidance for other areas of the organization including portfolio management, legal, and operations. • Review new deal packages prior to assigning Underwriter for significant industry and credit concerns. • Ensure that deals are underwritten prudently and efficiently. • Review credit narratives for content, ensuring that all pertinent credit issues are addressed and approve new transactions underwritten, within authority limits. • Manage department reporting exceptions and set debtor credit limits which exceed individual Relationship Manager or Underwriter approval authority. • Manage within set credit quality standards, including remaining within budget on revenue generation, funding/approval ratios, new fundings, and credit quality. • Interface with National Sales Manager with the underlying goal of promoting funding objectives. • Work with BDO’s in structuring proposal letters and ultimately approve all proposal letters issued as well as National Sales Manager in training of BDO’s. • Use CID to manage all facets of the underwriting process.
