Title: Junior Underwriter Location: Remote, USA Type: Full Time Regular Job Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Kalispell, or can be performed Remotely Nationwide. As a Flood Underwriter, you will work under the supervision of the Underwriting Manager, reviewing and analyzing quotations while servicing an existing book of business. We will count on you to: - Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per guidelines. - Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, handle billing issues, and complete policy issuance. - Review all underwriting information, including applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and third-party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies. - Provide customer service to agents via phone support, online chat, and emails, meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership. - Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution. - Actively participate in group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities. What you need to have: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures, with attention to detail. - Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. • Analyze financial data and create financial models for forecasting, trending, and results analysis to support business planning and decision-making processes. • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. • Prepare and present accurate monthly summary of expenses and direct costs with concise action-oriented commentary and analysis. • Compile, review, and analyze financial information/statements.

• Manage and support the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets • Handle data gathering, cleansing, and analysis across multiple financial systems • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders across time zones • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, models, and reporting outputs • Use relevant tools such as Excel, financial modelling software, and ERP systems • Support the wider team with month-end close activities, variance analysis, and presentations • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reduce reporting inefficiencies

• Assess which accounting and finance processes should be brought in-house and take ownership of their execution. • Design accounting and finance processes and drive automation. • Manage increasing complexity across multiple entities and countries. • Prepare accounting entries and complete monthly closings. • Oversee multi-entity consolidation and financial planning. • Raise reporting standards and improve automation.
