Role Description Short term consultancy assignment - Commencing June/July 2026, concluding March 2027 - Based in Comoros (remote) Save the Children is seeking a consultant to support the Ministry of National Education (MEN) in strengthening school safety and education continuity systems in Comoros by developing a national framework and associated capacity-building tools. The consultant will lead the technical work required to review existing policies and practices, identify gaps, and develop a comprehensive, context-appropriate framework for school safety and education continuity, as well as training modules and a roll-out plan. Through this work, the consultancy aims to enhance institutional and human capacities to better manage climate and disaster-related risks and ensure continuity of learning across the education system. Qualifications - Summary of skills, experiences and qualifications aligned to this specific scope of work, including French language proficiency. - Experience of working internationally, preferably with Ministries of Education. Requirements - Conducting desk reviews of national policies, frameworks, and training materials related to school safety, disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, and education continuity. - Supporting stakeholder mapping and contributing to consultations with MEN and relevant partners to inform analysis and validate findings. - Developing a national framework for school safety and education continuity, aligned with national priorities and international standards, integrating gender-responsive and disability-inclusive approaches. - Preparing a desk review report on training materials and identifying priority capacity gaps. - Designing and developing training modules for MEN staff and teachers, aligned with the national framework. - Developing a comprehensive roll-out plan for the implementation of the training modules at national and subnational levels. - Coordinating with Save the Children, incorporating feedback, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs in French.
