Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring MTS Systems Design Engineers to Administer a publicly accessible, multi-site cloud environment to enable access the latest AMD hardware. Assist with technical architecture, engineering, and operations of the network connectivity and security of this environment. Collaborate with data center, IT security, IT network, and application teams to ensure the network architecture is defined and documented to meet strategic needs. Implement, maintain, and debug the LAN/WAN infrastructure. Configure and maintain security infrastructure and policies. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company proprietary products. Can work remotely. Travel required: NO Qualifications: Degree required Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following: 1.Handling switch and router products; 2.Designing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing network hardware, topologies and deployments; 3.Unix or Linux environments; 4.Networking concepts, architecture, topology, network protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, IGMP, DHCP, DNS, Network Management protocols, NAT, Multicast, QoS (RoCE/DSCP), or Monitoring/Analytics; 5.Scripting with Ansible or Python; 6.Developing automation for infrastructure deployment and metrics collection; and 7.Implementing appropriate security and monitoring tools for cloud networks.
