Role Description Join us at Grand Canyon Education's College of Nursing and Health Care Professions as a Field Clinical Counselor. This position will coordinate and support the students with policies, processes, placements, applying and entering the practicum and/or clinical phases of the degree program. This will be a remote position with a salary of $43,000 per year. Candidates must reside in the Greater Phoenix area. New hire training will encompass two full weeks of training. One week will be held in-person at our Phoenix, AZ campus and the following week will be held virtually via Zoom. - Collects and tracks immunization and health and safety documentation required for clinical and practicum rotations. - Ensures students meet all required deadlines and notifies appropriate parties of non-compliance. - Communicates to students, preceptors, and sites before documentation expires or a file becomes out of date. - Prepares and distributes necessary information to students regarding the program(s). - Assists with placement of students to include practicum, clinical, or practice immersion. - Handles high volume of outbound and inbound student calls while meeting GCU customer service standards. - Establishes rapport and relationships with students. - Encourages students to ensure they are on track with meeting clinical and practicum requirements. - Assists with the processing of paperwork for sites and preceptors if needed. - Works as part of a high-performance team and encourages and supports other team members. - Handles multiple priorities and tasks in an effective and efficient manner. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university. - Six months’ related work experience such as a high-volume in-bound/out-bound call center and preferably in higher education. - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, healthcare clients, students, and the general public. - Ability to handle a high-volume of inbound/outbound calls effectively. - Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite. - Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University. Project Title : Dye penetration efficiency against viscosity evaluation Description: Varying viscosity of Dykem Red Ink at different counts of use (re-use cycles) can increase viscosity over time, which may limit dye penetration and lead to no/poor penetration outcomes in the Dye & Pry process. Today, there is no quantitative control of dye viscosity (and/or temperature), so "low viscosity" is assumed but not verified. This internship project will establish a practical viscosity measurement and control approach to improve confidence and repeatability of Dye & Pry results. Scope: 1. Develop a test plan to measure Dykem red dye viscosity across defined reuse counts 2. Identify and evaluate viscometer options suitable for low-viscosity Newtonian fluids with high sensitivity and minimal mechanical disturbance 3. Define a controlled measurement method (including temperature control/standardization, e.g., 25°C reference) and measurement repeatability checks 4. Correlate viscosity trends to Dye & Pry penetration quality indicators (e.g., penetration success rate / defect reveal quality using existing lab evaluation approach 5. Propose an operational control plan: viscosity acceptance window, reuse limit guidance, storage/handling recommendations, and a simple decision rule for "use vs discard. Supporting Team: Failure Analysis (Dye & Pry process owners / lab operations) Deliverables: 1. A viscosity vs. reuse-count dataset and trend summary (baseline + defined reuse points) 2. Recommendation of the best-fit viscometer type for this application (with rationale tied to low-viscosity needs) 3. A documented viscosity measurement procedure (incl. temperature reference and repeatability approach) 4. A proposed viscosity acceptance window (e.g., at 25°C) and a simple operational control rule for reuse/discard. 5. Final readout package (1-slide executive summary + supporting detail appendix) for lab leadership. Stretch Goal: 1. Implement an easy-to-maintain tracking method (labeling/log sheet) to record reuse count + viscosity checks and enable quick audits. 2. Evaluate whether temperature variation (ambient vs controlled) materially shifts viscosity enough to require tighter storage/usage controls. 3.
